Who Do I contact if another warrior is selling plagarized material?

Hello, serious question. I purchased some " PLR" content here and the material is plagarized.
and the products weree copyrighted material simply cut and pasted from other ebooks to create chapters. LAST time i'm ever purchasing from this forum. It's a shame,

    Hi Richard, with any problems like this then the usual approach after contacting the person concerned is to contact Admin and someone should sort it for you.

    I'm not really sure what the rules are with your complaint, though from what I'm aware the rules are! as long as the content is altered to make it unique then it's not plagiarized.

      I could have done article spinner too. I have a mountain of content and could easily cut and paste these articles into 'chapters' but wanted quality and original from someone who could write good.

    No, do not contact the admin, that is not the process here.

    Richard, if the person is selling here through a WSO or Classified ads space, use the "report post" icon (red triangle thingee) underneath their name and that will alert the WSO Moderators.

    Did you purchase this here or did you buy it from another site?

    1). Do they have a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE stated in their sales thread? If so, admin can put some pressure on them to refund. You can also, file a PayPal claim if that's how you paid. If no MBG, there's not a lot you or the admin can do.
    -- He did offer a money back, but NEVER pulled through. He seems like a decent person, a known copywriter.

    2). How do you know it's plagarized? If you're certain it is, file a DMCA with their host.
    -- While reading through the book, there was repeated information. The book sucked horribly. It was obvious information.. like walk, run, exercise, etc.. any 11 year old could have written it so I googled some of the content and it popped up in search engines. The content was pulled from pubished ebook years before the post on the forum.

    Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I'm filing with paypal, but wanted to post here to let the person know this isn't cool. I spend several weeks looking for someone who i thought would be legit, and hoped for good quality content. Nonethelss. He took my money for a product that is useless.

      There is PLR content and also licensed content, both of which are legally used over and over in books, reports, and articles on the Internet. The license for this kind of content is usually for non-exclusive use meaning others can also legally use the same material. Of course it is best to not copy and paste such content into one's products, IMO; however, just because content appears over and over, that is NOT proof that it is plagiarized.

      Be careful about making accusations until you understand the law and don't confuse crappy content with illegal content.

      Note I'm not defending the ebook or author because I don't know the situation but I do want to comment on this part.

      1. You say that it's obvious information like walk, run, exercise, etc. Have you ever read any other diet/physical fitness book. Almost every book says very obvious things. But you have to ask yourself this question - if the content was so obvious - even so obvious that an 11 year old could write it - and if it was freely available in Google then why did you need to buy another physical fitness book in the first place? Why not just do the obvious because the great, great majority of those that do follow it get fit, lose weight, etc. Why didn't you?

      2. How do you know that the content in the search engines isn't stolen from the author of the ebook? It seems you assume the author stole it from elsewhere but it may be just the opposite.

      3. Have you ever considered that a book may have several different versions and even names? In some cases there is a common "system" that flows through several related ebooks such as books and training courses based on the 7 Habits by Steven Covey. If that's the case, it could account for some of your findings.

        I already said the content was plagarized from books i've seen online from popular, notable magazines. What the author did was cut and paste sections of their books and added it to this. The other books were published BEFORE this WSO was released. Anyone will tell you this is a huckster move. Just simply NOT cool. I came here to get PLR and wanted to save some coin rather than hire a freelancer, which i'm going to use the money too now. The person here admitted they just hired another freelancer and wrote the sales copy, which is perfectly fine. However, it's plagarized from someone elses work. Why would I sell it and RISk MY name or anyone involved with the brand of my self being called out for plagarism. PLR is fine, i've used it before. Again, this was cut and paste LAZY work- the information was repeated over and over again.
