Google Local Maps- Phone verification not working?

Anyone had luck with the phone verification for Google Local/Google Maps? I've been trying to get a client going for a couple weeks now, and when I push the "Validate by phone" link, the phone doesn't ring. And it's super annoying because I keep calling the client's receptionist to wait for the phone call.....

Anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

I really don't want to wait several weeks for a postcard. Google mentioned that they were having problems with this feature...anyone else have a solution?

    Would that client happen to be using voip or a "digital phone" service that some cable companies offer? If so that may be the problem, you could always try one of those call forwarding services or get a 800 number and see if that fixes it (ringcentral offers a free trial for both)
