Would Like Twitch gaming followers...

Hey a friend of mine is big into gaming and wants to make partner on twitch, and his associate runs a gaming website that's slowly creeping in visitors.

do you have any suggestions on one: Getting more twitch followers

two: increasing vistors for a video gaming site. Opt in offers and such.

all advice is appreciated, thanks

David

My advice would be, do SEO for the website, put the stream up on the website.
Be a good Player in the game he plays, or be a positive and funny person which people want to see, or else people leave right away agian.

There are many gaming blogs that accept guest posts. Tell him to make a list of such blogs and send them a personalized message. He should become a semi-regular contributor to the more popular ones, if he can. His site's traffic will gradually become more popular as more people get to know him (provided that the guest post allows self-serving links.)

As far as offers go, he should link the games he discusses to places like Amazon Affiliates whenever he gets the chance. If he writes a game review, for example, link the game to Amazon.

Additionally, he could showcase the newest games on the sidebar (again, linking to Amazon Affiliates.) Hardcore gamers buy a lot of games while they're still hot, so this alone could bring him some commissions.

Last but not least, tell him to build a list and one hell of a relationship with it!

    Best of luck.

I think the key is the gaming video, he can find out some good YouTube gamer that have thousands of subscribers to cooperate on the streaming video content to attract twitch followers.

As luck would have it I used to be a Runescape streamer, and I built up a Youtube channel first. You can use your subscribers to drive traffic to your livestreams, by creating 30 seconds of video telling them that you are streaming live now. It's basically like an email broadcast, but to all the people that are subscribed to your youtube channel.

Exactly what I was going to post. The only reason I checked out some steams was because the people I followed posted a short video saying that they're going to stream now and what games they're playing.

Definitely build up your Youtube channel, if you haven't already. Make "Top Stream Moments" videos and compilation videos so people can see what to expect on your Twitch stream.
