Has anyone installed Photoshop 7.0 on the Windows Vista op system? If you did, did it seem to work good?

I have Photoshop 7.0, but I haven't installed it yet because it seems with Vista every piece of software has to be very, very recent.

Thanks,

Andyf

I used to have version 7.0 when I first went to Vista and it worked Ok for me.

I have recently upgraded to CS4 and that works fine too.

Not to say that it will work on your system though, you might want to get an un-installer before trying it so as to clean up any mess that can make if it does go pearshaped.

I have 'Your Uninstaller 2008' on my PC and find it invaluable.

Good luck if you go ahead with the install, let us know how you get on

Thanks for the reply...I'll probably try it. That stuff is so expensive!

If I was using Photoshop all of the time, I'd buy one of the new versions. But, I just use it when I'm doing a banner or ebook cover or something like that.

I'm also looking into which graphics packages and ebook cover packages are good to buy. There are a few good ones out there, but they require Photoshop...that's why I'm asking.

If Photoshop continues to give you problems you could always try GIMP, never tried it myself but I hear its pretty good.

        Andy,

If you're looking for a good but inexpensive piece of kit that would do banners and ebook covers you might want to check out Big Mike's GFX Writer

It's good and a tiny fraction of the price of Photoshop.

        Just a thought!

Photoshop 7 more or less works in Vista yes.

Many people are using Adobe Fireworks - you might want to take a look at that as well.
