Moderators: why is my honest thread deleted

Yesterday I finally had a breakthrough in IM. I got inspired and put into action a plan that got me 82 subscribers in 24 hours for free.

I started a thread to talk about it.

In the thread other members suggested I write a free report and give it away on the method I used.

So I spent hours writing the report and gave it away at the bottom of the thread.

Now I wake up this morning and my thread is deleted, and this is not the first time this has happened.

There was nothing heinous or dishonest in my thread.

Why are my threads being deleted when they seem similar to other threads on here???

What gives??? Why can't I post about my success?

Even though I saw the title of the post you are referring to I didn't read it.

Having said that, my guess would be that the mods looked at it as self promotional because of the free report. Whether or not it was opt-in or was selling anything those kinds of threads are generally not allowed.

Likewise asking why a thread was deleted is against the rules and so this "honest thread" may get deleted too. You may have a happier future here if you'd take a few minutes to read the information in the stickies at the top of the forum.

I have now just read (again) through the rules and realize that this post asking why is not allowed either, but I can't delete it now.

However I see people promoting all the time. Where is the place where it's appropriate?

I tried to make a post in the war room and that was deleted too.

The thread was okay until you posted an offer in it. The "get my book for subscribing" thing isn't allowed in posts in the discussion areas here.

        Basically, you posted an ad.

Stop by Paul's Pub - my little hangout on Facebook.

Sorry I had no idea. Where am I allowed to post a thread like that Paul?

Oh we posted at the same time Mark....I gotcha

        A couple ideas for you:

If you have a free report post it in the free ebook giveaway section.

Promote in your signature according to the sig rules.

Promote by NOT promoting - by helping without concern for getting the word out about your product but by truly helping - at least until you build some credibility.

Promote by buying an ad or paying for a banner.

Promote on your own website that is linked to from your signature.
