I'm trying my hand at some affiliate marketing. I have two questions:

1. Should I build a site for my affiliate link that I'm promoting or should I just link my videos and other methods directly to the product?

2. Also, If i can find an exact match domain name for the main keyword in my niche, should I just redirect the site to the product?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Building a site is mandatory for long term growth of your business.

Why not create a brand and build a loyal list of followers?

Build the site and direct prospects to your site, then your links directed to the affiliate. Make it informative.

If you get a domain that has the exact keyword matches, have it directed to the affiliate. Use that link in your website that you build.

Yes. You definitely want your own to use your own site.

    2. Also, If i can find an exact match domain name for the main keyword in my niche, should I just redirect the site to the product?
I guess you could do that, but you would be missing out on the opportunity to build a list and/or gain a following.

I'd look more into building a site I could brand. Right now, if I was to buy some exact match domains, I'd put reviews of 3 to 5 products on it, ranked ok, good, better, even better, and best.

In no way would I ever forward a domain to a link. You're just missing out on too much extra money.

I like your suggestions esp. with regards to having 3 products and their reviews. Thanks.

I'd suggest to make videos related to your product and that's all you will start getting traffic.

If you want to make money as an affiliate

      or with affiliate marketing,

      you build a list.

Dont build an affiliate website. (ever).

Have your own website for your own products and services.

      That is all.

You must build a list and to do that you need your own site with a way to capture emails either with a squeeze page or an optin form on your blog or both preferably.

The days of sending traffic through an affiliate link and making money are long gone.

Also, a FaceBook page is not the same as your own website in case you come across someone saying different. FB can change their rules at a moments notice and all your work is gone, wasted.

FB is an avenue for traffic leading to your optin wherever or however you have it set up.

Focusing on building your list right out of the gate will save you a ton of time and wasted dollars.

        Stephen?

why would you not build an affiliate site "EVER"? What about those of us that produce $1000+ a month with a 1 single affiliate site? And remember that is just ONE. What is so wrong with that? And just in case www.soccerdynamic.com would be an example of ONE of my AFFILIATE sites in that does produce over $1000 a month consistently.

The reality of it is that it all boils down to what you want. Building out a site may take a few days so going that route may consume a bit of time. The benefits of having a site is that it allows you build a "microbrand" and gives you a bit of authority to help influence visitors to buy the material you're selling.

Squeeze page and follow up is a proven model. But if you already have videos then feel free to add a link to product and see what happens.

EMD's are cool and still somewhat effective but if you redirect you are setting yourself up for failure.

In all honesty I think you are approaching this the wrong way. You need to think more long term rather than a quick buck.

Here is a good example of a small affiliate site doing 2k+ per month. Maby you can get some ideas from this...

It not to big of a site...

It's more of a personal microbrand...
