Newbies and Veterans Plus Misinformation Equals BOOM

I'm going to start this thread as I've come across way too much misinformation and I'd like to go ahead and clear it up.

Newbies: First off, something like 95% of all internet marketers fail. Wonder why...

It's because you receive bad advice constantly which leads you down the path of doom. Now, I know there are some exceptions, but from what I'm seeing around here lately it saddens me. People are telling you that mentors and coaches cost thousands upon thousands of dollars and you get what you pay for. That is because they are obviously out of the loop so to speak. They are probably also residing in the 95% range mentioned above. Maybe not all, but when you are misinformed right off the bat as a newbie, you are either going to get extremely lucky or you are doomed. Period.

Now, let me bring out the truth here which many GURU's aren't going to like. You don't have to sell the house, the farm and the car to receive life changing training along with daily contact and assistance with your mentor. This is because of leverage and due to a system that was designed to allow the average JOE who can't afford such high costs coaches and mentors to actually succeed. The game has changed.

Now, it still takes work as it should. There is no push button, boom!! I'm rich setup that I know of. You still have to learn and be taught the methods that work, which are easy for even newbies to duplicate. It comes down to being able to earn while you learn, having your hand held while doing it, being pointed and advised on how to proceed and a team behind you.

The days of lets make a bunch of blogs and niche websites and hope we rank in the search engines is over for those in the know. Ask yourself this question....

What side of the fence do I want to stand on? The side with the 95% who fail miserably or on the side of the fence with the 5% who didn't. Don't get me wrong, it is simple to succeed but not necessarily easy. There is a difference and it's HUGE.

So, as I'm sure many of the over priced coaches and mentors aren't going to like this thread I will meet some resistance. But, I'm glad to help people actually succeed with internet marketing without taking them to the cleaners.

I'll provide a tip or two here for those who would like to learn some simple tasks like using social media and branding yourself. To use social media properly, you will want to add value and generate a following. Of course, if you simply use social media to just blast your offers then you aren't going to get very far. Best of luck with that.

You need to start branding yourself online, everywhere you can at some point. As a newbie, you won't be doing this but when you get into more advanced marketing tactics you will absolutely need to do this.

Start your list building learning. Having your own subscriber list is very important in this game. There are a lot of courses and such on list building which can help you but truth be told they are not absolutely necessary. There are plugins available that can build you an amazing looking squeeze page very quickly, email providers like aweber that have tutorials to help you and then the methods of actually getting people to subscribe to your list like clickbanking, solo ads, adswaps and so on...

If you want to learn quick without doing the research there is nothing wrong with paying premium for premium products.

That being said, you can also simply research the answers yourself online.

    It's very easy.

Here's what I've been doing now ever since I returned back to IM specifically almost 3 years ago.

1.) Look for what people would love to buy. Make a quick product about that that is one problem, one solution. Simple, easy, provides the instant boom that casual readers expect.

You can find topics by scanning popular forums and seeing what gets asked again and again. You then research the answers yourself and compile said answers into a report.

You can find free report templates over at

    Word Templates

    Apache OpenOffice Templates

    to name just 2 places.

2.) Make sure you have a paid autoresponder. I use aWeber, Getresponse and Sendreach. You will be using this to "build your list" (aka your buyer leads).

3.) Give yourself permission to off 100% affiliate commission FE. This gives affiliates a reason to promote you (if you're unproven). If you really want to make a profit, add a quality upsell so you can cover the costs of your ad.

4.) Monetize your Download page. Add your affiliate links to lifetime/recurring commission affiliate programs (Clickbank, Nanacast, etc.). That helps bring in money long-term.

5.) Network with potential affiliate promoters. I get bunches of requests every day. Generally, the only ones I respond to are those who spell out exactly why my list would benefit, provide everything so I don't have to do anything, etc.etc.etc. Yes, I know people would love to have my comment on their thread. That's common sense but not a compelling reason for me to want to work with you.

6.) Create a long-term followup autoresponder customer care sequence. My last product has 9 followups that both give extra tips/ideas and also cross promote my other products as well. It helps to keep me in their mind.

7.) Create a free FB group where you teach what you know. Make that a bonus for your buyers. But be smart about it - have a definitive plan in place to make it really work for you. My first FB group didn't go well because I was clueless:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/IMHackers/

But my current one has over 3K members:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/perkingupprofits/

    8.) Launch your product.

Deliver quality. Get people on your buyers list. Promote to them.

And then simply rinse and repeat.

    Hope that helps!

Hey Barbling, I agree with almost everything you just said about the part about if you want to learn quickly, there is nothing wrong with paying a premium price. While some may be glad to do so, they do not have too!

People can actually learn very, very quickly without having to pay the premium price you mentioned and not have to do any research. They will however have to actually do the learning part and then be ready to go to war with themselves to create the drive needed to become successful in this business.

Other than that, I do validate all of your information you laid out, it's spot on!
