No Adsense ads on keywords? Affiliate okay?

I thought I found the perfect keywords to start building an authority site around. I've looked at it from all angles and am 90% confident.

However, I just realized there are no Adsense ads being served on my keywords, even though most of the longer tail on the keywords do have ads. Ie if my keywords are 3 words long, 1 additional word = lots of ads. Also, initially I planned to do Adsense but now I'm leaning toward creating my own info products or selling affiliate products... but can you tell me - if no one has ads on your keywords, does that mean no one would buy a product either?

Thanks in advance,
-J

Ads that show on Google's SRPs are Adwords. The Google content network ads are Adsense. There are different rules for each.

If there are no ads in search it could very well be that G doesn't allow ads for those terms.

If you want to see Adsense for your keywords, look for similar sites with Google ads.

Look at the existing merchants and affiliate programs instead of Adsense. If there are plenty of them then it's most certainly a profitable niche.

Thank you all for the replies. I think I'm starting to "get it" LOL. So many questions though.

In regards to this particular issue, I really "believe" people in this niche ARE buying, and there are relevant ads and affiliate programs to serve the niche. But yea for some strange reason, no adsense ads showing up for part of it.

Here's the closest example I can give to help you further understand.

Let's say my keywords are getting 8000 exact global searches a month and they are:

    "Lavish Party Tips"
--> No ads are being served on the above, but for the following within the "niche" lots of ads are there:

    Lavish party supplies
    lavish party dresses
    lavish party decorations
    lavish party plans
    lavish party photos

    etc
    etc

I'm thinking to buy "lavishpartyhub.com" (again, just an example, not what I'm actually going after) and building an authority site around this and all the related keywords.

    Thanks again

Not having competitors advertise on Google adwords for the niche does not make sense to me.

The best thing you can do is add the code to your website and then you will see if this is really truth if no one is advertising for the keyword.

Interesting. When I'm looking for ideas or tips, I will buy something relevant to solve my problem... but perhaps I'm not the norm.

Today I was looking for ideas on creating an email course, and I bought a course on building an email course LOL.

My husband is a teacher and he was looking for gym class ideas, but has never bought an ebook with a bunch of different ones... although if he found one, I bet he would.

Perhaps I need to keep my "ideal customer avatar" in mind and ensure whatever I do, it needs to have the right monetization strategies to match.
