User generated content / video shaing site

Hi guys,

I run a site called myrush.tv and it has been live since February.
It is a video upload, file sharing site and if possible I was wondering if some of you guys could offer some tips to spread the awareness and get more sign-ups and get people using the site.

After a lot of searching on how to improve traffic, there is not much help out there with regards to growing a community such as my site with user generated content. Its very frustrating!
I have the usual facebook and twitter page but nothing seems to really work.
I am going after a chunk of youtube uploads in a relatively small niche and it is something of a passion of mine.

I hope someone can offer some nuggets of inf to help me out please!
I should point out that although I am running this website, I have very little knowledge on code or how online marketing, affiliates, cpc and all that work!

      Maybe join / start facebook groups on the subject and get the word out.
      Watermark your videos and upload them to vimeo / youtube etc.

      Thats the obvious 2 that spring to mind without thinking.

      If the site was mine I would make an Android game on the theme of rally or drag racing or other related motor sport and brand it to the site.

      Maybe a flash game would more suitable for you as it can be put on any website really.

          yes, exactly that, I a looking for users to upload and share thier media/videos.
          I will be using some old skool methods of promoting as there are some relevant shows coming up and I will be handing out flyers etc. Lets see if this kind of marketing is usefull......?
          How do I go about sorting paid targeting traffic? I really have no idea!

        Cheers. I have a facebook page and have been plugging relentlessly for little gain. Also, using the facebook promote option, I found I had lots of likes from the Phillipines etc. Worthless.

        Writing an app is not an option for me as my abilities in this field are very limited!
