Bought script vs SAAS for email list cleaning

Hey Warriors.

First post.

I need to clean some of my not so new email lists. First I asked myself what's better: To buy software I can download (atomic and friends) or a cloud SAAS provider. When it comes to money the own download is much cheaper. But what about actuality?

So, and now I ask you: What's the better choice and why?

      Hi.

      Thanks for your answer.

      And why?

I'd vote for the service only because if you do "real" cleaning, it can be problematic doing it on your own PC.

Sure, the software can do typo checking, de-dupe etc. But the real value comes from actually connecting to the mail server and asking if it is a valid email address. The good SaaS services do that. While the downloaded software can do it, you run the risk of your home internet service provider banning or blocking you for querying that many email boxes. If you're only doing 5k records, probably not a problem. 100k...hmm not so much.
