Have You Ever Noticed...

Have you ever noticed how many 'lurkers' this forum gets?

You see the stats alongside each thread saying there were 5,000 reading it and only a handful actually posting any comment.

We must be giving great entertainment value to all who come here!

This is a big question that has also piqued my interest. It seems it has more lurkers than forums that are slightly larger. I wonder if possibly they have the setting in vbulletin to be something like "in the last 30 minutes" rather than the last 10.

Hey, Matt, why do you think the more experienced marketers on here are always posting something? And, they change their sig as often as some people change their socks!

I do agree this place gets traffic from google, and I think one of the reasons is they do an excellent job keeping the spam out.

I was a lurker for a long time before actually joining for fourm. For some reason many people who lurk are just plain afraid to post. Irrational to think now, but not back in the beginning.

I lurked for a year after joining - and look at what a mess I am now

I've wondered if there's a report circulating somewhere about "how to use the WF" as I notice many new signups with the first post of "I've been lurking for a long time, but didn't post" (and didn't join either). It's a recent frequent comment and usually seems to be from those who joined today and have something to promote.
