Buying expired domains and selling them

I used to buy 1,2 domains and installed wordpress on it.

Just installing wordpress on a domain would raise it right

Like i bought a 5-10 year old domain in bloggersummit.com and now its apparetly on sale for 600$. I didnt renew it because all i did was installing wordpress on it and left it there.

Any tips on this topic

Yes this can work but determining the actual value of a domain name is a skill not many people have. If you really find a golden nugget you can make quite some profit, but it will mostly revolve around being extremely lucky

So you can try but it's not a business model i would recommend.

I think this is becoming a extremely competitive way to make a buck.

Best to install wordpress on it, once it is getting some traffic ( at least 15 unique visits per day ), add adsense to it.

Once it makes a small amount over a period of 3 months, you can flip on flippa. You will at least triple your investment in most cases.

I bought a domain for just under $100 for a project, and I didn't end up using it... eventually sold it for $1,600 about 9 months later... I was contacted via whois information (make sure it's accurate!!)

Unless you're actively out promoting your domains to end users, domain investing is normally a "long game" unless you have a domain that's of substantial value.

Buying and selling expired domains is profitable specially if they get developed and then offered for sale. Many people are doing and it is not new, do not expect the domains/sites to be quickly though.

Selling domains is one area where I'm not afraid to say I'm a dummy!
I have some aged domains that I bought close to 10 years now and
I "parked" them on Sedo.com. In the last year I earned 66 cents!

I did get one offer for $500 but I counter offered for $700 and the
it was declined. I just keep paying the registration fees, so maybe
using a Wordpress blog must be better than parking. I'll try
    that one.

Installing WordPress on a new domain before selling it will definitely increase its value. However, you should use a premium theme and add some basic plugins. This way you'll make more money.
