I'd NEVER do it again...

Copy and paste--when someone asks to see my work?

Yeah. It looks terrible. So I tried to Google the question:

"how do i take one of my articles, and put it on a site where I can send someone to read it"

(like bitly or something similar)

I really suck at wording questions right, probably because of ALL the ways that same question runs through my head. I know. I suck. Thanks.

I don't know if anyone else has that problem, but I am working on it! Lol!

I think of something. AND this is JUST since I got interested in marketing and numbers period, but, now I analyze a question 984723947937 different ways, and when I come here for help, it comes out all mixed up lol.

So, I apologize in advance. Again.

But if someone could help me...? Maybe I am thinking of a displayable portfolio--in which case I would assume I'd need a site, or at least a blog. That is not what I am going for just yet--

Just something to display 2 or 3 of them separately. Maybe such a thing doesn't exist?

Don't know til I ask!

Thanks!

I know. I should really change my name to rambler....sorry again!

Actually, you might want to try the copywriting forum on here - you'd probably get better feedback for THIS on there.

You could always do an IMAGE of your work, that way people could not easily use it themselves...

I meant to say I really like this idea. Couldn't stop anyone totally, but it would make it a b**ch to take it!

I have had a few articles go out that I had rejected--they said they were 'poor quality', but I know they weren't!

I figured if I knew where they were using them, I could find my stuff on their sites! Cheapskates! lol

Reading from your other posts, you put yourself down way too much.

You need to start changing the wording that you are using.

    Instead of saying:

I suck at this or that.....

    Say.....

I am just learning and I will improve on such and such.

Never put yourself down like that.

    I had the same issue.

I am not a copywriter, I am a blogger and it sucked when dozens of sites copied my posts. But not anymore!

Look at my blog and try to copy one word with your mouse
    Online Earning Sites

    You cannot.

Because I am using this wordpress plugin called WP copy protect.

Protects from right click and CTRL+C (Copy/Paste)

Use it on your portfolio and show it to the world, now no-one can copy/paste your work

You can't protect everything you can just make it harder so they'll move on to the next site

F12, copy/paste from the HTML? Menu-Bar, view source then copy and paste from the HTML....

Of course, any scrapper can still grab your content.

Not trying to be a buzzkill.... Just educational.

Basically, if it displays in a browser it can be copied....

You could mask it with JavaScript.... You could content lock it.... But if a browser could display it, it can be had.

LOL - hell, skip the browser all together and -wget it if possible.

So basically, you want to display your work on third party websites and use that as a portfolio? Couldn't you just sign up and submit your stuff, squidoo, hubpages, whatever article directory you want?

Yes, this is basically what I was looking for, just had no idea where to look for it, it was not brought up when I Googled (or tried to Google it), anyway. But thank you a bunch for this!

Thank you for writing this! I know I do, but I know I suck, I am new. Lol I just end up pissing people off the way I ask things, or put random thoughts into my posts...

And you too, Jeff! You are ALWAYS awesome! I seriously thought about just pming you and asking, but didn't want to bother ya!

      ~*~So Basically~*~

Yeah, that's what I was trying to do was stay away from making a blog about it, just because of thieves mainly! Well, that and the fact that I don't have too much to display yet...somewhere like 150--but I don't want to share them ALL....

Plus, like you Jeff, you are awesome! But not everyone is like you, and I thought maybe people would get pissy if I posted my work that was accepted.

Like, you know, you showed me what the article looked like after you made it awesome and stuff...most of the time people don't tell me where what goes, so I never get to see anything outside of writing it.

Actually, just you and one other site did that for me!

You, Jeff, and this 10 Reasons Why CrossFit Is Kick Ass!

are the only 2 I've ever seen posted! I wish I had them all like that, where I could just link to them. I just didn't want to have to post a link in here to give an example but after seeing the answers, I suppose its okay in a forum? Idk. This stuff still gets me sometimes.

Besides, seeing them, and that people enjoy reading my articles fuels me to keep going. Otherwise, it's like, um, okay. So...do they even care what I am writing? Or is it just like, "Oh, cool. Whatever!" Ya know? Idk...lol

About me saying I suck all the time--that is my way of saying I am a newb to most of this, and if it weren't for this forum, I NEVER would have started to write in the first place...

BUT people get so mad at me, and are so nasty sometimes when I don't organize my thoughts before I start rambling on, so I apologize in advance before I just end up pissing people off here, or anywhere else for that matter! (Not that I have gone to too many different forums since finding this one!)

      But yeah, thanks again!

Oh, and Al, isn't that a place to sell them? I've not checked it out, but I thought that is what it was. I don't want to do that--just so when someone is like hey, can I see your work I can be like BAM! There ya go..way more professional looking than if I were to just copy them from iWriter and post them in a message. That is just embarrassing lol

I also feel like dropbox would be a great alternative. You can make a specific folder just for showing your work, then all you have to do is add whoever to your dropbox, and make it so that they can view the specific folder which holds your work. This would give YOU the most control at least.

    Good luck!

I agree with Joe, dropbox is probably best and you could even protect it with a pw that you change weekly if you wanted

Just ask the question. What's hard to understand about the question you're attempting to ask is all the unnecessary rambling in between trying to get the question out. It's like you're writing a bunch of fluff to make sure you hit 500 words! Ha.

That was cute, really. But seriously, it's really more like me letting everyone know my train of thought lol in an unorganized way, so they can see where I am with it.

I admitted to being a rambler! lol...

If there weren't more people out there like me, there probably would not have been any word or definition to fit it, ha.
