Question about moving content to new site.

I have a old website I bought when I first started blogging. Come to find out the domain was banned from Google search engines. I want to take some of the content (articles) I wrote on that blog and add to my new website.

Can I simply copy my content from the banned site and upload it to my new site and just delete the article on my old site? How would that work?

Even if the site was banned, copying content will make your new site compromised. You will not have original content. The best thing is just to pick up the keywords and come up with original content, do not copy.

Even if I shut down my old site and just turn it into a landing page to collect emails I will still get dinged for duplicate content?

Theirs got to be away to use that content and not waste it..

Use those contents for your article marketing part , not on your main site .it's not going waste that way. .

Hello Tony! Google is the source of major search traffic but it is certainly not all.

So if you have some really great content in that banned domain. What you can do is to get paid traffic/traffic from other sources, and make sales.

Don't just delete this site JUST BECAUSE google doesn't likes it.

JohnChow.com was banned in google for many years, but his success didn't stop; then lately he came back to google again.

But if you like to get this site UN-Banned from google, you can remove the questionable links you found that Google Webmaster Tools.

    Hope this all helps.

I have moved articles from one site to antother because i decided to change to a different domain name. After a few weeks the moved articles starting getting traffic, everything was fine.

If you delete the articles and then move them, i wouldn't think you would be penalized after some time. However, not sure how this would be when dealing with a banned site.

If I were in your position, I'd copy the content and make minor modifications. It's really easy to do it, if you're able to change the sentences and still convey the same idea. I think you're good to go.

You can outsource people for that (check WSO) or maybe just do it yourself. I'm not sure what you did to get yourself banned from the search engines but it's your business, it's worth everything you do

Ok, Thanks guys for your input. I think I might use them for article marketing. I don't want to take any chances to harm my new site.
