Hey fellow warriors, I looked through the Warriors For Hire section as well as the Service section on DigitalPoint, but I seem unable to find rates for rewriting an eBook. I have bought a 20k words PLR eBook which I want to flip, but of course it would be so much more valuable if its rewritten. Can you tell me what rates I would have to expect if i post a project at eLance or hire someone here on WF or DP? I don't have too much money to invest right now, but I would like to know what the going rates are. Kind regards, Karsten Stork |

You figure it would take a good 10-15 hours to go through the book and rewrite it, so at least $200 would be my guess.

| This may be because the description "rewriting an e-book" covers such a huge range of skills and time-consumption that it's not possible for competent writers to quote for it in abstract (as it were), without seeing the project first, and thereby being able at least to estimate how long it's going to take and come up with a figure in accordance with their hourly rate. Rewriting a 20k-word e-book on fission thermodynamics is rather a different proposition, for most of us, than rewriting a 20-k word e-book on internet marketing, for example. (Sorry not to be able to offer to help, but I'm not looking for work at the moment). |

I am also interested. I have a writer who is willing to charge just $80 for a 40 page each but my problem with him is that English is not his first language. He wrote some articles for me but they are not "too" good. I can give you his info if you have the time to rewrite the book. |

On average expect to pay about 300.00 for a quality rewrite. Others will give you cheaper quotes but they're not necessarily the sharpest knives in the writing drawer. ![]() PM me if you want me to send you my writer's address, I'm sure she would rework your ebook smashingly. She's written ebooks for me that sell like hotcakes on my fitness niche sites. |

I would imagine the price would vary from person to person depending on experience etc. It's probably best to just put a tender out there and see what prices are returned.

Hi Karsten, Before they can give you a quote, most writers will want to know the following: 1. Topic of the ebook. 2. What you mean by "rewriting." Some folks use that term to just mean switching common words for other words and maybe do a little proofing. Others use that term to describe extensive revisions to the entire product. So you'd have to give more details to a writer before they could give you a quote. 3. Quality of the ebook. Sometimes, rewriting a crappy book is actually harder than writing a fresh one from scratch. So a good writer will want to see the product first before giving a quote. Cheers, Becky |

It really depends what level of quality you want. If the writer's English is clunky, that will not help sell the book. Your best bet is to establish your products as premium products. That way you build trust and can sell your products for a premium price. The quality of writers here at Warrior is higher than at Elance. You could always go through the Copywriting subforum and send some private messages to a few writers. Ask for samples of their work. Negotiate a price. (I personally don't do re-writes.) Best of luck on the project. Paul |

[quote] I agree to that when it comes to original writing; however, this is rewriting and the thought is already there, you simply have to reword them and change the sentence structure while maintaining the thought.
