Dormant organic blog value

This I know is a very relative question like asking what color is the best but I will try to be clear.

I have a hosting client that wants to earn a few dollars per day off of 10 blogs. He is hesitant to pursue blogging for income as he said the technical stuff (setup wordpress, publishing and writing to the blog, monitoring analytics etc.. is beyond him) basically he wants to pay someone I recommended to him $50 per site for a unique affiliate blog similar to what Verena has been offering in WSO.

Again I stress, he will not touch the blog, it will be totally organic. The blog designer suggested to me that I, as the hosting provider, offer him a 180 day money back guarantee and if he is not happy with his revenue I give him $50 to buy the site/s back from him.

From the hosting side I would like likely lose money if the blogs are not doing well and I would have to fork over $500 total. What I want to know is with an organic site and domain that is 6 months old already, could I get a return on my $500 loss during months 6-12 or should I laugh it off?

I am not a blogger or into marketing so I don't know but I would imagine the hardest time to make money is months 0-6, wouldn't months 6-12 be a lot easier if I just freshen the content up? It sounds like I should say yes and try it out or could I lose my money completely? What do you think?

Thank you for the response hpgoodboy.

I only ask the following because I don't want to mess up: So the 6 months of being "on" and having content is no better than starting from scratch with a brand new domain name that has not yet been indexed?

I understand the content is stale, but aside from the stale content the domain itself should I buy them back, would be the same as just starting a blog myself? There is no advantage that the site was indexed and domain name ranked previously? I would not have any head start with a 6 month old website?

The ones Verena offers are PLR blogs. They are not unique. If you found someone who would make blogs like that that are unique with unique, high quality content, you'd be lucky to get someone to do a good job for $50 each. I wouldn't touch it myself.

If he just lets them sit, they are unlikely to ever get traffic or make money. Blogs aren't meant to be static sites.

Thank you for your response also, I am trying to understand. You say not worth anything. So it is identical as purchasing a brand new domain name? The 6 months of robots mean nothing?

Again I just don't want to skip over something that can be turned around faster than a new website if it is possible. I only ask because I have read here about people needing to turn around a site or freshen content to get it on track. If we are talking tracks, 6 months is not any further ahead? You are saying there is no turn around but rather it would be no different than registering a new domain today correct?

Again, thank you both for helping me understand this.
