Is the Internet Marketing Arena getting Saturated

I have heard this claim from people on various forums, sales pitches, ebooks, etc. I wondered if it was possible, considering that persons who conduct business on the Internet open themselves up to such a huge global market.

Then one day I punched in a keyword (don't remember what it was), and I saw a loooong list of GDI affiliates' websites pop up. It was extremely long. It reminded me of what I read in some ebook about people not making any money selling certain clickbank products, because although they are top sellers, it also means that everybody else is selling it too and you will always have to compete for the top page status and make extremely high max bids for keywords.

SO with all that said, what do you guys think, is it possible for this arena (as broad as it is) to become saturated? Does it make sense to enroll with an online business or program or system, when probably after a month you stop making money (if you were ever making any to begin with), because 10 million others are doing it too?

Absolutely not. Internet marketing is similar in scope to the internet itself, there are millions of places to market, and hundreds of new opportunities every day. In addition, there are hundreds of thousands of niche groups that could be anything from a small circle of friends, classmates in college, hobbyists in one locality... The list goes on and on.

What DOES tend to get saturated are methods that every else is using. It takes creativity, persistence and research to find the niche that works for you.

    LOL ....

Nah total nonsense dude ! !

This niche will never EVER be saturated !!!

Why would it ?? Here's my take on it ... Yes maybe there will be some saturation of poor, nasty quality products in the niche where people that shouldnt be just throw out a product in the hope it will do well !!

But if you come to the market with a genuinely good product that will help people and offers great value then you can penetrate into the IM niche in a BIG way !!

If you think you can bring that to the market then you will do well as do all those that make big bucks and do so by offering great products.

    Best wishes

Milllions of new users are joining the internet daily, it cannot become saturated. In my opinion the key is to find out what they desire and offer it to them. Asure way to make money.

Having lots of competition is a good thing. If you know marketing.

And Im not talking about internet marketing, im talking about marketing in general.

"IM" and Make money is a niche where people buy over and over for emotional reasons (like many other purchases), and because its tied into a very strong emotional desire, its a great market to sell to

Tell that to the PPC marketers. I'm sure they're all loving the fact that there are more competitors.

The point is, although competition means there is a chance for more joint venture opportunities and is a sign that the niche is profitable, there is always a point of diminishing returns.

The party will not go on forever. History has always shown that a market that is overloaded with too many players investing in it will crumble.

And in the 'aftermath', only the strongest marketers/companies will be left.

If you want to get into a competitive market, you've got to be prepared to have some marketing chops to make a splash.

If you are going to compete in a hard market with tough
competitors in it you need to take an honest look at your
    skills and resources.

Do you have what it takes to make
the kind of offers that matter in the niche?

In my opinion the offer is the toughest thing about marketing -
because we are so barraged with them these days you
almost have to promise the moon to get attention and
the attention-span tends to be short. There are a lot
of issues: infrastructure, your back-end, etc..

Truth be told if you go into the "make money" niches you go
up against people who can lose much more money than
you on getting the first sale - because their back-end
system is evolved and they have a lot invested in it.

I say this because it is true - in any highly lucrative niches
you go up against many 800 lb gorillas. Just like in Infomercials
you will go up against GuthyRenker (company has so much
money they can afford to lose money for 6 months on their
acne cream) - it's called "genuine financial advantage".

You have to find a way, if you do this, to both position yourself
as powerful and with a lot to offer, but also offering superior
service - look at what people say about customer service with
a lot of the big players:

    - in many cases (with coaching programs for example) the coach
is a bozo and doesn't have real answers to serious marketing
questions. I have spoken with enough people who paid $1000s
for coaching and still have very poor comprehension of what
    IM is.

That's just one area where, if you commit to it, you could
do very well by offering better service.

          I swear I read it!!!

on a side note: I don't believe a niche/market could be too saturated for the right offer.

But it takes skills and resources to accomplish this stuff... and it takes..... work... lol

            Fabian is quite right.

The fact is that no matter how saturated a market may appear to be, the 'saturation' is usually by the mediocre.

Good marketers will always float to the surface and do well, no matter how many others are fighting it out.

So my advice is - don't be scared, be better.

The best part about online marketing is that you can change your promotion easily, quickly, and cheap. Without a doubt there will be niches that get saturated, but new niches and offers are created every day. The key is to find a new niche and be one of the first (or most creative) affiliates to start promoting it. Even if you find a good profitable niche you will have to accept the fact that it won't last forever.

I keep an eye on this page since it gives me an idea of the newest offers. Find Affiliate Offers: View New Affiliate Network Offers

I've found a few offers that appear to have low competition...

If you're doing the same thing as everyone else, then yeah, I suppose that every market reaches its saturation point.

But if you DIFFERENTIATE (a common marketing word but not one oft uttered in the IM arena) even within the same niche, you can create your own sub market within a market.

That's why I don't sell e-books on how to get ranked in Google in an hour. I do interviews with people who actually tell you... lol...

The Internet has a tendency to create monopolies. Specially for products/services that can be rendered online independent of geographical location.

This is unlike businesses like... restaurants. A Texan restaurant is not necessarily competing with a Californian one.

But Amazon is competing with Barnes and Nobles and Walmart.com. Jeff Walker is competing with Ryan Deiss who is competing with Frank Kern. Sure they might be doing slightly different things but the audience is the same. If someone buys from one, it's less likely to buy from the other.

This is where the "abudance" magical thinking starts falling appart. Yes there are a lot of niches out there but competition on the internet moves fast and usually fights for the same audience. This will only get worse.

    I personally love competition.

There's a lot to go around if you are good, but if I had a hundred dollars
for every prospect who wrote me telling me they just spent all their
money on somebody else's stuff I would have a lot more dollars -
showing that prospects spend their money on other people's stuff,
and not yours, and it doesn't put money in your pocket when that
happens, no matter how positive you think about the abundance of
      the universe.

Yes, there are a lot of sellers here - IM arena is very competitive, but if you want to succeed, you just have to be more creative and find new ways to:

    - Position your offer.
    - Present your USP.
    - Approach prospects.
    - Manage relationships with current customers.
    - Creating products and services.

Winners win and losers lose. Same as everywhere. )

"Internet Marketing" encompasses so many different areas that I find it difficult to believe that it'll ever be saturated. Even if the competition increases for specific things -- like PPC, for example -- in my opinion there will always be opportunities ripe for picking.

I think that the Internet marketing arena becomes saturated only in the english speaking part of the internet. On other speaking languages, internet marketing is very poor and it is not developed.

So true. Except in my country for example people are not really interested in long term stuff like affiliate marketing or product creation, they better sign up to various mlm sites or sites where you get $.0001 for clicking an ad Not the best group to market to...

There was a dude trying to promote his affiliate program locally and teaching people how to do affiliate marketing, but he didn't get the ROI and the project sort of fell apart.

If you ask 100 regular people who use the Internet daily if they've tried Internet Marketing yet, I'll bet you'd be surprised how many people say no. We're not even close to saturation.

No, it's saturated, not becoming so, not going to become so. "Make money" is evergreen. It has, is and will always be a profitable market.

Weight loss is another such market. Does anyone think fat people will ever, ever, ever disappear or stop wanting to lose weight? Same with people who lack cash and want some.

Will everyone who tries such markets make money? No. But that's not the market. It's the marketer.

"Internet marketing" is a huge global market, and despite what some say it is mostly untapped. Don't be blinded by the narrow, incestuous world of the Warrior Forum. 99.999999 percent of the world has never heard of Mark Joyner, Frank Kern, Mike Filsaime, John Reese or any other guru you can name.
