link credit for images file?

Hey there,

Another site has ripped off one of my images...the image itself does have a link to my site but it's with /images/template file name.

Do I still get link credit for that? I don't mind so much that he did this as long as it can help my site. The site in question has a pagerank of 3.

Or do you think I should bug the guy to put a proper link there or remove it?
Thanks!

He took the image directly from your site and put it on his site, so the URL to the image is still the URL to your website?

They are using your server resources to post your image. This is one way that people use less bandwidth so their sites load faster.

If you own the image I would suggest contacting the webmaster and request two things.

      1. They download the image and put it on their own server.
      2. Supply a link crediting you as the source.

Sorry to add something that doesn't directly help you out with the situation - but as a Doctor Who fan - I LOVE that Timey Winey Toys site - what a great domain name too!

If you don't get satisfaction from them there are two more things you can do.

          1. Remove your original image, and reload it with a different name.
          2. upload a very disgusting image in the place of the old one just for kicks and giggles as it will only appear on their site.
