analytics, bounce rate

I keep noticing sometimes in google analytics, that the seconds on the site is zero. This seems impossible. Maye there were 20 hits, but it shows zero time on site and a "bounce rate" of 45. If the BR was 45, then how cold the time on site be zero? Even if they clicked away to an affiliate link, that still wouldn't be zero time on site.

Does anyone have similar experience and know that this means?
Thanks!

I got a website, where I put content on the landing pages. So the organic traffic arrive to the landing pages, which do not contain any other link than the one I want to be clicked.

My bounce rate is very high, because of this, as visitors do not visit more than one page on my site.

Bounce rate of 45% is not bad at all, in my opinion.

Bounce rate of 45% is pretty high in my opinion, I would say 20-30% is good.

Maybe you still do not have enough data to correctly calculate the numbers?

don't forget that Google, Bing, Yahoo... .they all send out bots... and it doesn't matter if you're already listed... there are also other bots trolling the net all the time searching for specific criteria...

Yes these are probably bots who don't find what they are looking for and leave immediately.

If there's no referrer then that's probably the case...

It does seem odd that the bounce rate is 45%. You would think it would be 99-100% for bots or automated traffic. That's been my experience anyway.

You should look for the avg. time and bounce rate coming through organic searches that would give the right idea of visitors behavior.

BR of 45 is decent. According to industry analysts, 65% or higher BR is the norm. To reduce your BR %, you should try this ONE SIMPLE TRICK: Use longer text!

As people mentioned, it's probably bots that come to your website. There is no standard for bounce rate. It will mostly depend on type of website you have. Small affiliate websites usually have higher bounce rates while bigger authority sites have lower bounce rates.
