Is There Any Good FREE e-commerce Platforms?

what requirements do you have? there are quite a few free ones that work well depends on what you want, joomla is a good cms with virtuemart to add on, its not great but its pretty robust, depends if you want content or just a platform for selling, oscommerce is also free and its a good shopping cart system, with good support forums and lots of add ons for all sorts of extras.

Generally people develop extras for the os ecommerce platforms and try to charge to sell them providing some service or making them easier or more efficient to use, but you dont have to use them, there is always other ways round things.

ive worked with those 2 for years and ran stores with up to 700 products in vm and in osc all had little glitches but they worked well.

If you give me more of an idea what you want in general from your site i could give my opinion which one, I am sure other people will have other opinions and its basically whatever you have worked with xcart has a good seo mod that i read up on the other day also.

Well I am just coming into the e-commerce side of things, I am just looking for a good platform that can support many products and accept a wide range of payment methods, and has a built in shopping cart, I have heard of oscommerce but wasn't awear it was free.
