Hey all,

I'm currently working on a new product. This is gonna my first venture with video walkthroughs and all.

I've some sort of experience with camtasia. But what I need is a video where I go through slides and occasionally browse a few pages. If you know what I mean, I don't really need a screen recorder but an all in one solution where I can compile slides and use it as the same way as a web browser.

I bought the Mini Site Formula and the software the guy uses looks all too perfect for me. Just need its name.

Thanks a lot.

That is a perfect thing for Camtasia. You can create slides in Powerpoint or Open office and then switch to the live walk through.

So, the only option for me is pause the video and fire up FireFox everytime I need to walkthrough a webpage?

      Thanks for the help.

I prefer Camtasia myself but many people I speak with say Jing is best. I have had system problems with Jing and it does not have the functions that Camtasia has.

No pausing necessary. All you need to do is have Firefox already fired up and just switch over to it when you're done with your current slide. Then, switch back over to your slideshow when the live part is done for that moment.

You can save time by pre-loading all the web pages you'll be covering in your presentation. Just tab through them as you need them.

Simply click the tab at the bottom of your screen (assuming your action bar is at the bottom, that is...) or use alt-tab to cycle through your apps.

I use Jing all the time. It's free but actually very powerful if all you need is to show people what you're doing on your PC. I love it.

Hi Lokesh I am using Jing at the moment to create a video tutorial series and find it excellent - and it is free so useful as a starting point until I can afford Camtasia. There is a 5 minute limit on videos but that's fine if you edit them carefully.

    Thanks a lot everyone...

I'll go with Camtasia at the moment. Michael's advice should come handy.

I use camtasia for the first time. This software has a powerful ability to create a demo from the screen video capture. I don't need more time to master using it.

If your focus is making video tutorials of how to use software or how to do IM stuff without shelling out any cash, there are few better than Wink: Wink - [Homepage] (no affiliation). Makes everything very easy and fast in my experience.

And yeap it's freeware. Give it a shot and see what you think.

If you're doing the typical let's read directly from the slides you might as well not do a video/slide presentation anyway. It's one of the worse things you can do and usually makes people lose focus.

Slides should serve to illustrate points, create an impact, not make people read. Hope it helps.
