Taking an affiliate site from one product to multiple products

I currently have a niche affiliate site that is number 1 in Google for quite a few of the keywords that the affiliate product uses; and monthly search volume is very low; so I feel I am pretty much maxed out in the monthly amount this one affiliate product generates (very small 100 to 150 p/m) and I know that sooner or later it will start decreasing.

So my thought is to start adding pages for other affiliate products (that are some what related) and try starting to rank for those products but I am worried that if I start creating more posts (home page is static and is where all the traffic comes from) or change the structure of the site that it will affect the ranking. BTW the sites URL does not contain the product name so there will be no issues there.

Does anyone have any experience good or bad doing this with an affiliate site and what are the two most important things you learned?

Thanks,
-T

In the reading I've done, it's suggested making affiliate links no follow and using the no follow tag. It may be a good idea to add the additional content and links slowly as you don't want to have a negative impact on your current ranking.

Other than that, keep doing what you've been doing to maintain your current rank.
