How to find a popular blog to follow?

Hi guys, I really like the way of getting traffic using blog comment.

My problem is finding a popular blog in the niche to comment and subscribe to get traffic.

Do you have any suggestions?

Follow the BEST blogs via an RSS reader.

Whenever you see something really cool... Post on it.

One of the biggest things you can do... Is be the *first* to comment on a HOT blog post.

The problem naturally is knowing which ones will be "hot" and get a lot of traffic haha.

So, my advice? Only follow blogs with a boat of traffic.

    ;]

Also... Leave QUALITY remarks that totally complement the original post... Because in my opinion quality blog commenting comes down to the very "real" traffic that you get from targeted visitors, and "less" to do with SEO.

    Just my $.02...

(Google Alerts can also work great)...

It doesn't matter what niche it is, a quick Google search should help you. I mean, it is a popular blog on that niche, right?

Otherwise, go to a popular niche blog. Find a popular post and look through the comments. There's bound to be an insightful comment there. Click that person's site and see if they're popular enough. Repeat the process and I think you're good.

One question: what niche are you working?

If I'm a gifting coach but leave comments on problogger all day long, nobody really cares, right?

Think of who you want to reach. Your comments should be seen by people who are interested in your niche.

People who blog about how to succeed with blogging can comment on sites like bloggingtips.com or problogger.net....2 good places to start.

Also, make sure to write 3 to 4 paragraph pieces, where you really dive into the work, if you want to make a serious impact. Better to write 1 comment and knock it out of the park if you have only 10 minutes versus leaving 1 liners on 5 authority blogs.

People want to be impressed. Impress them. Then, when you've left 1 or 2 of these thorough, in depth, helpful comments, folks will click through, read your latest post and comment on how they found you through your awesome comments.

This happens to me here and there when I really double down and rock out the comment strategy. Do a really smash up job, and people will take notice again and again.

Another note; using this approach problogger.net approached me and asked me to write a guest post for them. Cool, right? I also scored interview requests from bloggingtips.com and brand.com for my lengthy, in depth comments, so the proof is in the interviews and blogs by uber authority sites.

The secret lies in being disciplined, in sticking to this approach and working like mad to fight any stupid urges from within that say you're wasting your time through blog commenting.

    All the best.

I definitely agree with this, as a blogger and as someone who likes to read blog comments. People who write intelligent comments interest me and a lot f times, I find myself searching about these people to find out who they are. People want to know and reach out to people who provide value online. Leaving a comment that makes an impact does take time but in the long run it does pay off better than 1 liners.

First step: Follow the blogs of your niche and subscribe to their feeds.

Second step: Do some research on their post. And based on their post make a relavent sensible comment pointing to your blog.

    Note: Do not spam.

And the consequence would be : If your comment enters a healthy discussion other followers of that post will show interest in your blog also.

    Cheers

you can search on Google for anything related to the niche youre looking for blogs in. If youre looking for blogs in the IM niche, you can for example do a Google search for: "PPV strategy". Then you will find some different blogs (often popular blogs providing high quality content aswell), than if you just are searching for the major general phrases like make money online blog, internet marketing blogs etc.

Finding the exact post to comment is probably more important than following a few blogs. Google Blog Search engine doesn't a pretty good job if you limit the search to past week.

    1. Find the the right blogs to join. The blogs with good traffic rank and lot of comments are more likely to accept comments.
    2. Comment as early as possible to have more exposure.
    3. Ask blog author a question if you're not an expert in the subject.
    4. Share your personal experience if you're knowledgeable of the subject.
    5. Stick with a few high traffic blogs and consistently contribute.

Forum posting is similar to blog commenting, and doesn't have the issue of be approved.

Despite what some might suggest, blog commenting works. I know from experience. Just search for blogs in your niche and start posting comments. It really isn't any more difficult than that. From my experience, however, you have to do a little investigation. Number one, if there are no comments on a post or the post is weeks/months old, you probably want to avoid it. The person who started the blog had good intentions, but unfortunately burned out too early. Nobody is following it.

Number two, blog posting works. Post relevant comments so you get comments back. You want to show that you have an active blog that engages people. If I end up on a blog and look a the posts and see that every one one has zero comments, why am I staying there?

Yes, blog commenting takes time and effort. What doesn't? It works, though. Does it work overnight? Absolutely not. But a little bit of time each day can yield amazing results.

I try to comment on about six blogs a day. It doesn't take that long to do, but the results are definitely apparent. Best of luck to you.
