Why is searching by username disabled?

Apparently searching by user name is disabled?

I use this technique a lot.... anyone know why?

    Not sure but it worked fine for me just now.

    And there's always a Google search option:

    I think it was just disables for a moment. It works with me fine.

    Barb,

    There've been all sorts of things that weren't working at various points today. They weren't broken, though. Just turned off for a while.

    According to Alaister's post in the Forum News section, they moved the forum from the previous servers to Amazon's AWS system.

    That kind of transfer is tricky with a live interactive site. It's also why people have been getting the "502 Bad Gateway" errors.

      Oh yea! Everyone needs to be a little patient. I have moved sites that get tens of thousands of views a day and that was tricky. I can just imagine one that gets a million views a day. Eek. Personally knowing the scope of the job I think they did a great job keeping the forum running fairly smooth.

    Hello,

    we moved the forum to new servers and the search indexes need to get rebuilt completely before the search by username function will be back online. This can take some time as it's a very server intensive process.
