Starting a paid membership with support forums

Hey guys,

I was wondering what I should do for starting a new forums page within a paid membership.

There is the easy way by going to fiverr and have someone go nuts but this would be unethical.

Should I just wait it out and have it slowly build up?

I thought of going on other forums to give away memberships for free but that would fall in the lines of spamming. I have a few members but no one likes to be first. I need to figure out how to get people involved without them feeling singled out.

I was thinking of giving away a free membership here but that would be very untargeted traffic and don't want a bunch of marketers spamming my fitness forum lol.

What are your thoughts on this?

    Start free and once you hit a critical mass - like 100 members or 500 you decide - then start getting people to pay

      I think they mean getting members to start posting in an empty forum. Correct me if I'm wrong.
