The source code will not give the height of the page, I think.

    Swaminathan,
The height of the page is going to be a combination of all of the elements stacked on one another.

Unless the site is built within 1 overall table (probably not) you will not find a single height number in the source code.

I have never really tried to find the height of a page, generally just the width. So, this is just my off the cuff work around.

There are several free programs that allow you to accurately measure the size of elements on your computer. Do a search for pixel ruler. You should come up with several options that you can use.

    Good luck,

Scott: I will check out pixel ruler, thanks.

Desray: no problem. In fact, I did a crude measurement actually, by trial and error.

    NVS,

If you use the Firefox Browser follow the below link to add the Web Developer Toolbar add-on to your browser. In the Miscellaneous menu you'll find a Display Ruler option. Click that and then click a corner of the web page or element you want to measure. Expand the grid to encompass what you want measured. Firefox will tell you the size.

If your using IE click the link below to add the Web Developer toolbar add-on to your Explorer browser. Pretty much the same as the FF plugin.

If you develop sites for clients, or even just for yourself, you'll find yourself constantly using these add-ons. Like copywriters, web developers have huge swipe files we use to inspire new ideas. Both those add-ons make it easy to "swipe" all the information you may need to to add a particular bit of info to your file.

    Take Care,
