Building a website to attract top affiliates?

I've got a couple of digital products out there. I've decided one of them would be ideal for affilate marketing, so being a novice I went to Clickbank and realised that I need to build a sister site to the main product website so I can utilise clickbanks payment gateway system.

So today I am building the sister site, however while I'm doing that it occurred to me, I should try and find out what top affilate marketers want from a product website as I can add those features in.... Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure Im quite understanding what you mean.
Do you want to build a JV invite page where people can sign up as an affiliate, or are you building the site where affiliates can get marketing tools like banners, email swipes etc.?

Hi Rene, I'm building an info website that sells digital products, I already have my main site with paypal payment gateway on it, however clickbank as far as I understand needs to have its own payment system. So im building a sister site for clickbank.

I'm completely new to click bank and affiliate marketing so want to build a site that is attractive to top affiliate marketers... I read a few posts and giving something away free is no problem, no leeks is something else that appears to be important, i'm wondering what else is needed as top marketers seem to be very black and white about investing their time and money in these products.

      I hope that makes sense?

    Affiliates always want stuff like:

    A high converting offer.
Banners to put on their site.
    Pre-written ads.
    Email swipes.

Some even offer prizes to their TOP affiliates.

If you visit some of the products on Clickbank you will find that many have an Affiliate or JV page link on the bottom of their sales page.

In this page they usually have an overview of the product and all the collateral an affiliate might want to use for promoting their product(s).

Not sure if I am allowed to post example here, so I'll PM you some example pages which have a lot of info in them, but it is really up to you as to how much you include.

I should also mention that just because you put up a JV/Affiliate page, it doesn't mean people will come to it. It would be wise to hang out where other people selling products in your niche hangout and rub shoulders with the people who could potentially become your affiliates.

Building relationships helps a lot, as does having proof within your JV/Affiliate page that your product works and that the sales page converts. You will see some of the social proof I am talking about in the links I send you.

BTW: I have no affiliation to the products I am sending you, they are purely for example purposes only.

Oh.. Just keep it simple! (KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid)
Also it would be a huge plus if you have split-tested your site, and know that it converts well. Affiliates obviously likes the offers and sites that converts the best.

gazc130: Email- swipes are pre-written emails your affiliates can copy and paste into their mailing service and send out to their list. This is great because many affiliates don't want to / have time to write their own emails sometimes.

    Hope that helps
