Is Optimize Press 2.0 good for building Authority Blogs?

Hi guys, I really like the flexibility and look of OP2 but I heard that it loads pretty slow. I'm afraid that if I build a blog using OP2, my ranking will get affected because of the slow loading time compared to other themes.

Would you advise to use OP2 to build an Authority Blog?

Any kind advice would be appreciated!

In my opinion, no. I prefer magazine-based themes for 'authority' sites.

I had a blog once (some dude grabbed the domain and now wants like $2k) that was hosted on Optimize Press 1.

I thought it looked pretty cool, and it definitely grabbed the attention of some of my subscribers... And the code is relatively clean.

Best of all - you can easily host all of your sales pages in the backend of your blog.

It gets my $.02 approval haha.

(No, I don't work for OptimizePress).

    Stay cool, blog on

  • I use OP for for squeeze page and landing pages but for the theme I would you something better they have 3 templates and it can build a nice blog but there are easier and much more developed themes. I had version 1.0 but on 2.0 I just use the OP2 plugin.

Optimize Press is built to make great looking sales pages, squeeze pages etc. The blog function was only added later, it's ok but there are much better options dedicated to what you are looking for...
So IMO OP is not your best option...

      Thanks for the input guys.

From what I gather it seems OP2 is not really good if I want my site to rank on Google for the serps.

      Is that correct?

Can anyone recommend a good theme for seo ranking purposes?

OP2 has nothing to do with your SERPS.
If you are just building an affiliate site with Amazon for example, OP2 may not be as invaluable as it would be when you are building sales pages.

If you are focusing on simple products, you will be just fine with a theme that supports reviews, looks good, and loads fast. Additional eye-catching features are a bonus, you can get them through plugins as well.

        Shameless self plugs ahead..
