How Can I Track Sales Person Sales?

Hi,

I'm getting ready to hold a local workshop and plan on hiring sales people (working on commission) to fill the seats -- and I'm hoping to have more than one sales person. I'm also going to do some promotion myself. The attendees will register for the workshop on my site and pay through Google Checkout.

Once the sales start coming through, how can I track where the sales came from so that I can be know which sales person was responsible for the registration or if was my own marketing?

I can't afford 1 Shopping Cart, so hoping there's a simpler tracking solution or much cheaper alternative.

Thanks in advance for the help, been thinking about this for days and not getting anywhere.

    Hi Sofia,

You could advice each sales person to offer a bonus or a discount, and then ask the buyer to put that "discount code" into the signup form to get the discount.

In reality, the discount is given to everyone, however, the CODE = ID of the salesperson!

So, you could advice the salespeople to say "IF you signup today or before this Friday, use code BJ123 (for Sales person BOB JOHNSON) and get 20% off. Or some bonus or what ever you want to make it --giving an enticement to signup fast.

Then as the orders come in you can use the DISCOUNT CODE to ID each REP who made the sale.

    Hope that helps.
    Success,
    Sam

Thanks Rich -- this is a simple solution though it means I need to either raise the price a little or get a little less per sale
