I'm Fed Up! (Need New Hosting)

I've had it! I can't get my site up with this hosting provider I am using.

Do you have any hosting recommendations? I am looking for: inexpensive, reliable, complete cPanel with website maker bundle.

Which one would you go for? Hostgator, JustHost, Namecheap....

I could read the reviews, but it's just so much better getting suggestions from real people who really experienced using the products/services.

PS

I read somewhere in here about a discount finding app. Anyone know about that too?

I've been using Hostgator for over a year now. My website has only gone down once due to their service issues and it's a great service in general. I definitely recommend it.

I've not had any major problems with HostGator and they've been a great help whenever I run into problems. Like any shared hosting provider, they do have a pretty strict limitation so if you're running something big I suggest going for a bigger package or a dedicated server to avoid headaches.

i second Hawkhost since you mentioned a host that's inexpensive.

Their lowest shared plan is $10 for 3 months with like 3 gigs of space with coupon which might be plenty for your needs.

I've tried quite a few hosts and i think for reliability and affordability hawk may be perfect for you. They also have plenty of options for growth should your needs grow.

What kind of site are you trying to get up? Some hosts have 1-click WP install. It's all so easy.

Hostgator? Ummm... don't jump from one nightmare to another.

Smart IMrs have been leaping off the Hostgator boat and moving to solid hosts like Liquid web. Personally, I have not used shared hosting since 2003... and because of that I have not experienced any of the many issues that people using shared hosting providers experience.

I have Blue Host, and iPage.

I prefer iPage. Even though I have shared hosting on both (comparable costs), iPage appears to be faster (my opinion, YMMV).

I use D9 hosting, they have been reliable in my experience, on the few occasions i've had to use their support, tickets were usually responded to within the hour, their prices are fair and they give unlimited domain hosting and unlimited bandwidth & webspace.

BigScoots (not an affiliate link) has been the premier hosting company for several years - long time customers can't say enough good about them and all their feedback on the Web Hosting Talk Forum is always positive.

Steer clear of any hosts owned by EIG: HostGator, BlueHost, and dozens more. They all are a disaster.

Been using Hostgator for about 7-8 years now, with multiple accounts, never had a single problem. Their support is quick and amazing, they host over 9 million sites, they rarely have any downtime, and I can't be any happier with them really.

You could also use bluehost, they are on same par with hostgator (my opinion tho).

Before you decide to move, make sure you do some further research beyond this forum. The majority of the "alternate" hosts being mentioned here are actually the same: same servers, same network, same datacenter, same task-master (EIG), just a different brand.

Quick question what kind of website are you trying to make if you let me know i can probley come up with the best option for you? not all hosting is the same, what one cheap, hosting provider has, may be lacking in the one thing you really need

Thank you all for your recommendations. Seems to me the most common is Hostgator and I looked at their options and they are a good choice. I am looking at Hawkhost too.

    Anyone ever tried JustHost before?

I've tried Justhost, hostgator, Bluehost, Knownhost and my own private server.

I would recommend all except Bluehost. They had some problems with their WHM and their customer service is a joke.. bunch of amateurs..

Knownhost would get my highest recommendation.. very reliable servers and customer support is A1 - fast and they actually know what they're talking about.

I've been a HostGator customer for several years. I can honestly say I've never had an issue with their service. If there ever was a hiccup, I initiated a live chat, and the problem was solved right away.

I can't recommend them highly enough. That said, I wouldn't have my domain and my hosting through them for reasons I don't want to get into here, but for hosting, they're top notch in my opinion.

From my experience, customer service is second to none. (No affiliate links here).

    I hope this helps.

Well now you have 16 different hosts to choose from, so what does that tell you, it tells you to just do your own research and buy one. You might want to sell a kidney so you can pay for a whole year at once and save some money

    Hi Andrea,

I see this question all the time. I started with Hostgator and was with them for 3 years and never had a problem.
Right now, I'm with hostwithcarol.com. It's $9.95 a month with unlimited domains and websites. There is also a business plan, it depends on what you need.
I have the business plan because I don't want to have to deal with website maintenance. If you decide to go with her, please tell her that I sent you. I would really appreciate it! There is no aff. link for her hosting but, she is a friend and we help each other out. Her hosting is awesome.

The discount finding app. is called "Honey". It's a Firefox addon and it's good for domain names on GoDaddy.com and good for many more stores like Amazon on the web.
Just install the addon and you're good to go.
The most I've paid for a domain name in the last year is $3.17 for 1 year. I've also paid as little as $1.17.
Good luck and let us know what happens.
