I'm an affiliate selling a clickbank product. Do I need to list some type of return policy on my site?

My understanding is that the vendor will deal with returns not the affiliate.

No you dont have to worry about that, all you need to focus on is driving traffic to the offer..

The vendor of the product will handle all refund and customer service. But to entice buyers, you may mention that whatever guarantee that the vendor is providing.

I think you might be putting the cart before the horse. Google and web users are looking for something that provides value on the internet, be it searching for an answer to a questions, learning about a certain topic, looking for something to buy, etc.

I would suggest that you figure out what buyers in your product niche are trying to solve and create a website that will answer some, but not all the questions, then you can suggest and help funnel them into purchasing your clickbank product.

An easy way to do this:

Article -> Capture Email -> Send Newsletter -> Send to Sales funnel -> Sell Clickbank product -> followup with newsletter and sell additional products related to niche.

Don't forget you can have multiple articles with different topics using the same path.

Once you have something of value to provide your users with then start list swapping and buying other lists and advertising.

It's always recommended to have a list because then you have a somewhat captive audience. And you can just keep recommending good products to them to build up authority.

You just have to direct traffic to the affiliate link, that's the advantage of promoting affiliate programs

You don't have to but depending on the niche you might want to. If you are reviewing or recommending a product the fact that it has a money back guarantee might be worth mentioning.

I used to sell MMORPG guides. On my site I not only explained exactly how to get a CB refund but I gave my personal guarantee. If for some reason they couldn't get a CB refund I would refund them out of my own pocket.

I sold a lot of MMORPG guides.
