Default WarriorForum or Twitter?

BTW - that should read "WarriorForum" and not "WorriorForum" . Just incase you get worried and not participate - you are safe, I just corrected it

I've been using twitter for a few months now and I have nearly 3k followers and I follow nearly as many. My tweets and post tweets get me a few number of traffic flow.

I can also safely say I am a newbie on the forum arena, especialy here at WorriorForum. I've probably got about 2 or 3 fellow worriors visit my sites

But as far as enganging, informative, productive and rewarding goes, I find WF to be far superior to twitter.

What is your opinion on this? Would you rather tweet and hope someone reads you or would you prefer to be engaged in a constructive environment with what seems to me to be umpteenth benefits?

I have not yet found any personal attraction to twitter. Yes, I know...it's all the rage, but I just can't bring myself to engaging into mindless chatter, for whatever paltry traffic may result. I prefer to use my time more constructively. Then again my assessment of twitter may be totally wrong. So be it.

Why can't you do both? Everyone else is.

As is always stated, so much of your click through ratio has to do with what you're selling. Twitter and this forum sees it's share of "Make Money" offers so be sure your ads/sigs/tweets are compelling or somehow stand out from the crowd.

Twitter is not the same as here. I suppose you can find people in your "arena" to follow you but the engagement goes nowhere really fast. Here you can have a sorta real conversation.

You can make real contacts and get help from people.
Twitter to me is a FAD. I am sure it isn't going away anytime soon, people will find good things to do with it.

I agree that the WF is an excellent place for full, engaging discussions. Twitter can also be useful, but mainly for either short communication or for identifying and communicating with people who have interests that are compatible with your niche. I have personally found it useful as a tool for locating people and redirecting them to my blog. It's an easy way to get new blog subscribers and followers; and also a great way to solicit comments from people who are actually interested in the topic you're writing about.

Go for both. Then you will have best of both worlds. I do believe there is no harm having both or more since it will cover different visitors or future clients. What you get from twitter may not be the same visitor on WF. So, you can try other social bookmarking to expose greater visitors.

Forum platform and twitter is a different thing. I definitely used all both. Twitter as a micro blogging is giving benefit on fast update. No people will follow intens what the contents inside. Get the benefit of re-connecting with friends while simultaneously avoiding the annoyance of too many interrupts. If we keep this in mind it’s possible to get quite a bit out of Twitter.

Quoted from lorelle's blog (lorelle.wordpress.com) here the pros and cons of twitter.

Twitter – Pros
Friends list — updated messages from other people who also use the site
Import friends from your email address book
Private messages between users
Post by phone
Surf by phone — the site is optimized for mobile phones
VERY simple to use
3rd party utilities — there are a million and one applications you can use to access Twitter other than the official web site.
3rd party import RSS feeds — through TwitterFeed.com

Twitter – Cons
Short length — only allows for 140 character length messages, about two sentences.
Design is ugly and inconsistent
No embedded video or photo support
Shared links are usually hidden by a URL shortener, and that makes it hard for people to know what you’re linking to ahead of time
Not very many customization options
No custom domain name support — you don’t own your URLlore

The reason they call this a DISCUSSION FORUM as it gives you the opportunity to DISCUSS... above and beyond the confines of 140 characters

But as others have pointed out, it's not EITHER / OR.

It's like your cell phone. You can make CALLS, when you want to chat to people. Or you can send them a TEXT MESSAGE when you don't have the time or inclination for an extended conversation.

Or you can do BOTH.

Twitter is the TEXT (SMS) MESSAGE of the Internet world, and the Warrior Forum is the PHONE CALL.

Just watch out for the heavy breathing that goes on here...

Checking the Analytics for my Success Manifesto 2011, here's the traffic percentages (visits from source):

Warrior Forum (where it's in my sig and it has been discussed in a few threads): 6.61%

Twitter (where I've Tweeted each new installment and my mailings to Product Creation Labs list get Tweeted): 1.79%

FaceBook (where I never post, but my Tweets get broadcast): 1.42%

I've been on twitter for a little while, and at first didn't really get it. Admittedly, I'm not completely won-over, but I'm starting to see the value in connecting with people I otherwise wouldn't.

I don't follow everyone who follows me, but if they have interesting things in their feed that pertain to what I want to learn or be involved in, then yeah, it's pretty cool. I haven't really started exploring how I can use it to market. For now, I'm content getting used to it, and finding others out there with similar interests.

For me~
WarriorForum: exchange of ideas and indepth discussions (any message board really...I'm on a few of 'em)
Twitter: exchange of resources, products, and articles
Facebook: dysfunctional family reunion, would never use personal account for business, but have a fan page set up once I'm ready to. (Although as a business, I can't "friend" people, so it's a bit weird in terms of reciprocation)
Biznik: Connecting with indie business owners (mostly brick and mortar folk, no MLM/Network Marketing, etc allowed)
Linked In: A complete and utter waste of time, (for me anyway)
MySpace: Wha? I think I remember hearing about them at some point...never been on it though.

Still getting used to the idea of using twitter for business. Hard to sort through the spam to get to the gems of info, and not sure how to get myself in front of those who could use my services in a tactful way on Twitter. I've always enjoyed Twitter for recieving sports updates and fun stuff like that. Still figuring out the Twitter for business thing.

Twitter is not a primary IM tool IMO.

Writing is very valuable, but only if directed in the right way - Twitter is not one of them.

I see many people over the years getting sucked in to these latest fads, but have not seen one single fad last over the years.

Most are either worthless from the start, or become worthless after relentless abuse by IM'ers.

The only strategy that I think will survive in the long-term is Ezine Articles.

Google have downgraded or cancelled PR benefits from EZA, but they still rank the EZA articles themselves on the basis that it is up to the service to regulate their own users. EZA is designed for posting articles by definition.

Scribd is a good place also.

There was a time when Wikipedia was awesome for passing PR from backlinks and very easy to add backlinks, but IM'ers killed that eventually.

It is like having the ability to Mastermind with Thousands of people

WF is great to learn about what to do.
Twitter is good for telling everyone what you did.

WF will be around a lot longer. Twitter is just a fad. Sure there will be those who cannot live without. The only use I see for it in my case is to let people know about stock market picks. Latest updates.

Yes what is this either/or thing people have?

Twitter and the Warrior Forum are two completely different things.

Why on earth would you have to choose between them?

Isn't this comparing apples to oranges?

Twitter is a micro-blog, admittedly I have asked some questions on Twitter and received excellent answers but they tend to get lost in the sea of tweets. A few hours later it's ancient history.

A thread started on the Warrior Forum can soon become an active and vibrant conversation that can last for days and that can be referenced by all of us forever.

Out of curiosity did you ask the same question on Twitter?

Bill

P.S. Is the Worrior Forum for people who worry a lot? I know a few people who should join!
