Recently i was asked by my mentor to identify which type of squeeze page template below that has high opt in rate

a) Squeeze page 'A' which contain video, a MCQ survey form, feedback form and a opt in form

b) Squeeze page 'B' which just contain a video and opt in form

To my surprise, the squeeze page 'B' which the template is simpler is having better opt in rate (Opt in rate of 50%) compare to squeeze page 'A' (Opt in rate of 20%)

It seems like people still prefer simpler squeeze page...

What seems to be working better is not even have an optin form, just a big orange button for Instant Access and when clicked it leads to a page with nothing but an email address box and a short message saying "Tell us where to send it".

I totally agree! Too many distractions on a page will get visitors confused.

Survey form, feedback form and optin form... Too many distractions. Survey and feedback forms should be provided on separate pages. Optin page should have one goal which is to have the user opt in. That's why a simple video + optin form will generally work better. Giving less options to the visitor is crucial to get the visitor do your desired action.

Hi Nail, you are right. Giving lesser option to visitor tend to make them more focus. Having the other distraction around the squeeze page will just shift their attention from the opt in form

That's very obvious. The reason why Squeeze page "B" did better is simple

    - "A" has more elements, leading to lesser conversion
    - "A" requires more user input, people are lazy so lesser conversion

    And the lesson -

    Keep it simple.
    Less fields = more subscribers

    100% go with simple.

A squeeze page on my blog where I give away a free report has a 13 word headline, a picture of the report, and an opt in box.

Nothing more, nothing less. It has a conversion rate of nearly 60%.

The hard part is getting my blog visitors to that page :-)

No surprise at all. Visitors should only have two options - Optin or leave.

If people are interested in your product, they dont want to have to jump through hoops to get it or join or whatever else. Keeping the focus on just the info and the optin form is always the way to go IMO.

My advice is to keep your squeeze page as simple as possible..

If you do need their additional information, you can ask it later within your follow-up emails.. Just get them in your list first..

This is what people said as 'two-steps optin'.. I use it a lot and got good results..

I was more surprised that you thought 'A' will even convert. =)
