GEO Amazon Associates Dilemma

Hi I am wondering about Amazon associates. You see I am Canadian and it turns out I can't buy from Amazon.com instead however I am forced to buy from Amazon.ca . No big deal -Usually, but If I want to be an affiliate for Amazon and sell to both Canadians and Americans should I apply for both an American account and a Canadian? And can I do even do that?

You will need to apply for both, as both American and Canadian affiliate programs are run separately. You can apply for both.

However, it's a bit hard on promotions as they provide different links for both programs. Unless you have two different sites, with one targeting Americans and one targeting Canadians.

Yes not problem you can apply to be an affiliate with pretty much all the Amazon's .co.uk, Germany, Japan, France etc...not sure about India.

You CAN buy through .com if you have your account set up. I do.

And yes you need to sign up for all the separate amazon associate accounts separately.

However, there are three solutions to dealing with global traffic that come to mind.

      1. You could have mirror sites that auto redirect based on the visitors IP using subdomains like many large sites. For example:

      ca.mywebsite.com
      us.mywebsite.com
      au.mywebsite.com

      etc.

      2. on your website with the "buy now" link you can put little flags and a direction to click the flag of their choice. Add some direction like "choose your currency"

      3. Skimlinks / Skimwords will do this for you. You install their plugin and you can use your own affiliate network or sign up under theirs.

Its no problem to apply for them all but the big question here is how your going to Geo target your visitors to the correct links.

    Thanks everyone!
I was thinking I would just split a portion of my page into sections one for Canada & Us. But Now I'm also thinking about adding for UK and Australia.
