Is Captcha A New Feature Of The Forum?

Hi Fellow Warriors (and Alaister),

I noticed that suddenly I'm required to solve a captcha every time I make a post in the forum. I'm wondering if this is part of the new forum features?

Does it kick in after a certain number of posts/day or is it something that is required with every post now?

I guess it'll keep bots at bay...

      Seems like a new feature. Can be REALLY frustrating if you can't get the Captcha correct the 1st time.

      Like I sed in another post. I hope this is just a new feature they're testing for a short while.

      But on the brightside, i guess it will limit spam.

        Thanks for the feedback. So it really IS a new feature.

        They're also getting more challenging. Now there are TWO parts to it, and the second one is just about illegible (dark grey on slightly lighter dark grey background). Hope I got it right...

          Hi everyone,

          This isn't a new feature that we're keeping in place. We saw a whole bunch of new spam coming in so we have temporary placed the Captcha there just to address the spam issue.

          We've removed that captcha now, hopefully the spam will have stopped.

            Hi Alaister,

            thanks so much for the update, and for removing it again. I just noticed that it was gone (when I posted my last reply to another post), and was kind of surprised.

            It's great that it's gone, but I certainly understand if it's needed every once in a while if we're being hit hard by the bots.

    Hmm.. I just logged in and hit 'post a reply' because the quick reply button was nowhere to be found, and then I got this captcha. But when I opened and replied on another thread the quick reply box was there and the captcha was gone. And this is my 3rd post for this day actually. I think it only appears on your first post, but still not sure though..
