Advice on content delivery

Hi,

I am helping my father set up his ecommerce site this Summer. I would like your thoughts on how we are planning to go about it. Any suggestions are welcome.

We are building and hosting the website on weebly.

The main offer is a yearly subscription. Customers get 12 digital downloads, one hard copy book, and an email every month containing new information.

Since weebly does not currently offer subscription billing, we are thinking of using bluesnap to both charge yearly and deliver the digital goods. Mailing the hard copy book is no trouble.

We plan to use aweber to automate emails to a list of subscribers taken from bluesnap.

We are also selling individual digital products through weebly's ecommerce services.

The services to be used are:
weebly
aweber
bluesnap

If anyone can offer a more efficient alternative system I would be very grateful.

Thank you,
masaharustin

This sounds like a good set up.

I suggest that you also get your own domain name that then points to your site. That way you can build your own brand and are not dependent on weebly. You would use weebly for building your site but not your brand.

I agree, you really need to use your own domain. Hate to put all the work into it and something happens. You have no control.

If your using wordpress, woocommerce is a great store plugin. And from I remember it can do subscriptions. Or use S2member for subscriptions.

See mailchimp.com instead of aweber. They are on the rise right now.

I would suggest a membership package like easyMember Pro or a Wordpress equivalent. This would handle monthly subscription payments through PayPal. The initial cost would be very low compared with having to move everything later to a full membership site. Start of right and you will save a lot of time in the future. Aweber is far easier to use than MailChimp.
