Found A Site To Get Free Images For Blogs, Articles. Videos & Whatever - No Link Back Required..

While I was looking for images and graphics for my products and blogs, I came across a site that provides over 2000 free images in all different sizes which I could download and use without crediting the owner.

I could use them for commercial and personal use.

Some of you may already use this site - that's for sure, but for others I have posted the link below:

Free Images - Pixabay ( No affiliate connection at all with them )

They have a good range of images available, and I thought some of you's might appreciate another image provider to add to your list - especially a free site.

Best reagards

Do you have to credit the owner for those images/ On the site I mention you don't have to credit anyone for them..

        Hello,

Credits is not required on the images but you will need to be careful when using people images and trademarked images on certain projects ie: advertising, marketing and/or false light uses. They also want you to do the following...
You also agree to take the time to comment on and rate the Image you downloaded and do your best to show the work you created with the Image to the photographer.
They do require that you to get permission from the photographers on extended uses.

Always ask permission from the photographer if you want to use the Image
In website templates that You intend to sell or distribute.
For creating printed reproductions that You intend to sell.
On "print on demand" items such as t-shirts, postcards, mouse pads, mugs (e.g. on sites like Cafepress), or on any similar mass produced item that would contain the Image in a dominant way.
They have a full list of published terms and conditions that you can see here...

        Site Info - freeimages

As with most all free image sites you play at your own risk...
        IMPORTANT!

Freeimages cannot be held responsible for any copyright violations, and cannot guarantee the legality of the Images stored in its system. If you want to make sure, always contact the photographers. You use the site and the photos at your own risk!
        Regards,

        -don

          Hi Don

I understand that most image sites have rules and regs for using free images, but for the site I mention there doesn't seem to be any, which is unusual and something I have never come across before.

You don't need to credit the author at all, and it states this when you go to download an image.

It's the only site I have ever come across which offers good quality images in all sizes for free and no need for link backs..

I kee expecting them to change the terms, but as of yet they havn't.

            Hi blueclcl,

Yes, Pixabay is what I would consider to be one of the most reputable, and possibly the best IMHO, privately owned public domain image site out there. As far as I know the owner takes an interest in making sure only good public domain material is available.

They may not have a ton of marketing material, but they do have a decent selection of nice images.

The CC0 license is a great license and it is the one you should be looking for when sourcing free pictures.

I like Pixabay --> I just don't talk them up too much as I have been licensing my own images professionally for the past 13 years! I know Pixabay also offers a free plugin that makes image additions to your Wordpress blogs a snap.

The only thing to check on there is make sure the image has a model release if you are using recognizable people images for advertising, marketing or possible false light purposes.

I must admit you have found a good one.

            Cheers!

Pixabay actually has a WP plugin. Just install it, search for pics AND insert them straight into the post.

No more need to download pics to your computer and then uploading them to your website manually.

    Here ya go:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/pixabay-images/

    Also consider:

    Flickr Pick a Pic
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/flickr-pick-a-picture/

    Photo Dropper
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/photo-dropper/

All of these work the same exact way.

      Hello,

I actually mentioned the Pixabay plugin above.

The difference with the Pixabay/PB plugin and the other ones that you have mentioned is Pixabay ONLY offer Public Domain pictures, while most of the images on Flickr ARE NOT public domain ---> most of them are all rights reserved or CC attribution license photos that require attribution. So the Flickr plugin pulls CC images for you and places the attribution and linkback.

Lets you pick a Creative Commons picture from Flickr and use it anywhere you want on your WordPress installation. The plugin will maintain attribution to the original Flickr author to keep peace with the CC Attribution License.
The PhotoDropper plugin you mentioned can pull all kinds of different images --> copyrighted, creative commons, etc. etc. and it will also place the attribution and link back on your site for you.

Can I remove the image attribution from a creative commons image?
Only if you get special permission from the author.

Who own’s the Creative Common’s Images?
The author owns the rights to the image and by using it you are bound by the Creative Common’s License.

If my website or business makes money or is for profit, can I still use PhotoDropper?
Yes, just make sure you are using images that allow for commercial use. The welcome page on PhotoDropper will ask you if your website makes money. If it does answer accordingly, so we can show you images with the correct license type. Please note: It is still your responsibility to make sure the image you select has the correct license for your needs.
      Legal Stuff

By using this plugin you are responsible for adhering to all licensing and copyright restrictions. Using photos without the proper licensing, attribution, or without an author’s permission is illegal.
Pixabay is PUBLIC DOMAIN only which makes it one of the safest sources for images that do not require permission, attribution or linkbacks.

Yeah, seobro, if you don't mind the attribution and linkback to Getty, and you can deal with the offered size, it's a sweet deal that Getty offers to bloggers these days. I figure that Getty may monetize the image popup window with advertising sometime in the future.

You need to grab the images from the Getty site and paste in the proper embed code.

Another good site I use is Canstockphoto.com. You can get some really good quality images for around $10 per 5 images. They have a much larger selection than Pixabay, but they do charge, and the licence is a bit more stricter.

There is also a WP plugin available on Problogger.com which is called Flickr Suckr which auto grabs creative commons images from Flickr and puts them and the licence link directly into your blog.

Wow, Thanks for sharing another great resource.

I have earlier bookmarked one fine article about free images to use legitimately.

You may find the list shared in the article very useful.

I know it's not free, but I think Stock Photos and Royalty Free Images from 123RF Stock Photography is pretty good.

Around $1 per image if you don't need them too big and obviously no worries of being done for copyright and so on.

Not saying you have those concerns with the free ones you mention.

Yes, I have used these before in the past- decent site - thanks, but Pixabay is still the only one I know that actually provides images in all sizes, and great quality for free and with no need to acknowledge the owner. .

I would love someone to post a rival site to this, I really would..
