I am HEX code crazy. I spent 20 years as a colorist in the apparel industry. I have hundreds of my favorite HEX codes on my desk. HOW the heck do you organize them so you can find the exact right color when you need it?

    Well, you COULD create an HTML page and save it to your desktop. Display all the color codes on that page (could probably be automated).

    When you need one, open the page and hover your mouse cursor over your samples, then read off the hexcode by using the free "Pixie" utility from Nattyware. It displays info on any pixel you hover your mouse cursor over:

    Normally, I just used adobe photoshop's color picker (eye dropper tool in cs6) to know the hex code equivalent for that certain color.

    aha .. good tips. I normally just ask my wife or daughter what color it is and they tell me.

    Wait, that's what I do for my ties and shirts - never mind.
