You need to find the market first, then create a product that solves a problem... You're making the first BIG mistake all newbies make by creating a product and then trying to find buyers/market. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find a hungry market with a very specific problem, then sell them the solution. Mike Hill |

Contact food pantry owners/managers/organizations, and interview them over the phone and record it. Create audios for 1 product, get the conversations transcribed for 2nd product to put in pdf ebook format. If there really is a market for this, you could always start your own forum as well, since it looks like there may be a need. But like suggested above, make sure you have a rabid marketplace, look for the foam in their mouth. ![]() George |

George, Thanks for the info. Great ideas. I use to run a food pantry and I have a manual ready. But I really like your ideas. Will have to do it. |

Hi, This sounds like an interesting project, and unfortunately pretty timely. I was wondering if you could clarify the problems you are having? You have the manual ready-so is it the product launch you need advice on? Thanks! Best Regards, Kevin |

mother earth news magazine has had some good info on food pantries before; check out the magazine or website for more info... also see what others are promoting or what problems they are solving... also look at the adwords spenders, first to see if there are any, and secondly to see what they are selling....

This must be a uniquely American term - what exactly is a 'food pantry'? Everything I have read on this subject appears to relate to charitable organisations and, since they depend on others for whatever stock they hold, would not necessarily appreciate a comprehensive 'perfect world' guide. |

You might not like what I say - but I believe it. Build it, make money, then build some more Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies! | |

| a cupboard? That's what I would have thought since that is what a pantry is. This specific term 'food pantry' does seem to relate, as I have said, to charitable organisations. As for organising and starting a food pantry I simply do not understand this at all since most homes have a fridge, a freezer and kitchen cupboards but seldom have a purpose built pantry. UK pantries used to be in the coolest part of the house, had fly screens on the very small window and incorporated a meat safe that sat on the very heavy duty concrete shelf which helped to maintain a lower temperature. |

A food pantry is another name for a food bank. It is usually on a more local level and not a regional like a food bank. People are in need to the information on the how to's to start and run one.

SO a food pantry is a local source of aid for those unable to adequately feed themselves?
