    https://blog.leadpages.net/video-bac...-landing-page/

    offers this functionality.

Basically, you add a video container to your squeeze page. When you find one that you like, you can view the source to see if you can duplicate it on your site.

    Here's one for $10:

Marketing - Ensconce - Premium Video Landing Page | ThemeForest

    Hope that helps!

I don't know if there's an actual 'official' term... I've seen these called a lot of different things.

But in addition to what others have said:

Here's a Wordpress theme that will do this: Video Effects Press WP Theme

    Here's a Wordpress plugin: WPVideoOptin

      Hey,

You can just take the code off my page

      http://bit.ly/1sEZO4E

Or use it to show your coder as a sample if that's what you are looking for

BTW - the code still needs work but it will get you started.

Epic Squeeze created by Juan Morales can do that for ya...

It's also got quite a few other nifty tricks within the plugin

I use it myself, and highly recommend it

(plus it's easier and ((probably)) cheaper than paying someone else to do it)

I would recommend hiring someone to do it for you. This sounds you need a specific setup, so i wouldn't waste time 'trying to figure it out' when someone on fiverr or odesk will do it for $10.

I believe i've seen this in action on Paypal's homepage. Pretty cool if you have a high speed internet connection. I like the Leadpages' software mentioned earlier by barbling. Real effective. But best for users who has a high speed connection. That's the only caveat.

It's the kind of thing marketers sometimes get enthused by. Whenever I've seen them split-tested, they've always been abandoned fairly quickly, because their opt-in rates have been so much lower (surely not a surprise?). I'm guessing that you must be promoting something very directly video-related, to think that this won't greatly reduce your opt-in conversion-rate?

I would still split-test it very carefully, if I were you. Hope you don't mind my mentioning it (it's not something I'd even be willing to test, myself, to be honest, after all the feedback I get from people about autoplay video ).

The video in the background popped up a call to action. I clicked it and left the squeeze page and ended up on YouTube.

I would not even add this thing to a website.

Most people's computers are very old and slow.

I think that just a picture on your squeeze page background is the way to go.

All the split-testing results I've ever seen for those have also shown that a plain white background converts better.

"Design" is hugely overvalued by marketers, in general, and often to their loss. Simple and plain usually convert best.

But a video background for a squeeze page (unless perhaps you're promoting video specifically, I suppose, which could be worth testing, perhaps?) is basically a classic mistake that appeals to a certain type of marketer. The only people really profiting from this stuff are the people selling it.

These silly things become popular only because gullible marketers like the look of them and use them without split-testing them.

Then they become self-perpetuating because other gullible marketers look at them and think "These things must work, otherwise people wouldn't be using them".

Some people gradually learn this sensibly, by testing it for themselves, and many others never learn it at all (and that's one of the reasons the success-rates in IM are so low), but the reality is that for most marketers, most of the time, this stuff is all nonsense.

I'll add to that that they do it at the expense of neglecting the content, the words that actually convert (or should convert) visitors into buyers/leads/whatever.

It always amazes me how poor writers many marketers are, and I refer here mainly to the research part. While having an inclination for writing isn't something that all can have (though it can be improved significantly if someone really wants to), thorough research is at the reach of everyone. Yet so many regurgitated words make their way into the Internet that you wonder how these people make even a sale a month.

    Hi,

    Lead Pages does this.

It's a paid service but there's a TON of other things you can do with it too.

Basically you'll be able to build complete sales funnels that come with TEST
    proven to convert templates.

    More opt ins.

    More subscribers.

More people to turn into BUYERS and even raving fans of yours.
