What do you mean contributors? There are two ways to go at it, you can pay good writers decent cash and they'll contribute for you or pay bad writers with bad reputations and go at it from there.

You can market your site so badly you have valuable readers. When I say valuable readers, I mean people who actually contribute and actively read your stuff. If they see your site beneficial for you, your readers and them, they'll approach you.

If you mean guest posters, then ask someone to post, they will either say yes or no.

If you mean comments, end the blog post with a question and ask for comments.

If you mean articles, then christphercuna is correct.

What are you blogging about? The best way to go about this is to look for blogs that are not your direct competition but rather compliments yours.

Next step is to contact them on their website (most have contact forms) or email them if they would be willing to guest post on your site in exchange for a link back to their site.

You'd be surprised to find that most people are willing to do this than the other way around. =)
