Hosting Domain & Hosting with the same host?

I'm having trouble making a decision on this.

I love Namecheap but so far I've only used it for domains and had web hosting elsewhere because I've heard some people say you should never have them in the same place. I'm thinking about getting reseller hosting with Namecheap along with the domains I already have.

So what are the advantages/disadvantages to hosting them in the same place?

Any input would be appreciated!

There are no disadvantages unless you're doing something that you don't want footprints leading back to you.

If this is in regard to PBNs, don't have them all on the same registrar and hosting. That's a no-no.

      What's a PBN?

I think peeps sometimes advise this because if you run into problems or have issues with either your hosting or your registrar they can't jam up both your websites and your domain names.

I have 80+ domains now and none of them are registered with the companies that sell me my dedicated servers or host my shared accounts. Everything I do is legal and I still prefer to use separate companies for domain services and hosting.

I see. Do you mind telling me where you host your domains and where you have web hosting?

Namcheap and GoDaddy for domains, Hostgator for shared servers and Hostdime for my dedicated boxes. I have been with GoDaddy and Hostdime for more than a decade.

        Cheers.

Although, reseller hosting with different IPs isn't that bad. I've used it to great success and it keeps the costs down.

Well, if you already use Namecheap, and you like them , then don't change-up for some spurious reason. That being said there is the all your eggs in one basket conundrum.

There is no advantages of having your domain and you hosting under the same company.

Domain companies are not a great hosting provider, i would recommend having a hosting company hosting your site, while keeping your domain with name cheap

I agree with this. Domain companies expert/specialize are providing domain not hosting services.

Yeah, I agree as well. From my experience some companies that are big domain services providers have not been great hosts. And in the same regard, companies that specialize in hosting often times do not provide great domain services ie: pricing, specials, features & options.

        Best of luck!
