What can $200.00 do for starting a business?

As the title says, what can 200.00 do to startup a business and/or improve a current business. Is this kind of money beneficial to advertising and will it actually provide sales for a site?

I'm just trying to test the waters as I'm interested in making more money.

Short but not-very-helpful answer: it depends what sort of business. In theory, at least, you can start some businesses for next-to-nothing.

Longer answer: I set up my whole business for a total of about $60/$70 (and could even have done it for a little less, if I'd known how at the time). And after doing so, there wasn't any point at which having more capital available would have made things any faster, more profitable or more reliable for me. On the other hand, for a business model which involves paid traffic of any kind, and especially for one involving spending on advertising, $200 might be very little start-up capital, I think. You can certainly get lucky with something like PPC traffic for less than $200, but you'd really have to know what you were doing, and that typically has quite a long learning-curve in which the first two or three hundred can more or less be chalked up to "experience" without producing very much income at all.

Well, you can actually start even with zero budget, but $200 can be helpful for PPC actually. Make some quality review site with your affiliate links (make sure they are hidden) and drive some quick traffic using Adwords and Bing Ads. Get some coupons on the web first, this way you can get up to $100 free advertising credits for both.

    Good luck

Look into selling some t-shirts on teespring in niches. there are a bunch of case studies on youtube you can access for free ( this way you can get a feel for the process )

I would tell you to pick up Don Wilson's FB Ads Crakced, however the offer is closed right now. I think this method is a great way to currently dig for gold with little money for shovels.

      Good luck,

      Derek

Depends on what skills you have. For example you could have a basic website created and then drive visitors using so called free methods if you have the time. The site doesn't have to be too fancy to get going.

Another way would be to run Facebook ads to help build up followers/likes to a fb page and then link that to your website although $200 won't go that far unless you have some idea what you're doing with FB ads.

Yes. $200 can get you started. I note that a number of the suggestions above recommend that it is applied to paid advertising. I have a slightly different recommendation - I would use the cash to get good hosting and a decent auto-responder in the first instance. Start a blog, use free traffic methods such as blog hopping and others, make use of other free initial traffic offers on commercial sites to develop interest in your blog - then build up from there. You can find information on building up your blog, getting free traffic, introducing a free offer, building a list and then creating a sales funnel on many websites by googling it. If you use the $200 for CPC or other advertising before putting in place a valuable offer on your site and getting the infrastructure in place to convert sales, then there is a real risk that your return on investment on a $200 advertising spend won't lead to sales in excess of the $200 - get the right infrastructure in place first and your ROI can be several times the $200 investment.

This was one of the best things I've heard. My biggest issue is I'm loosing money on my site as I struggle with traffic and I pay 20.00/month for hosting as it includes a site builder.

I've been trying to somewhat replicate my site but I feel as if it's a struggle to do so.

You could start a Facebook Fan Page and then drive traffic to your fan page via articles and using Facebook's promote my site feature and PPC.

Could you possibly provide me some links. I have a fan page for my site just have never seen these things before. I am very new to things when it comes to traffic.

OK - $20 per month is far too much for hosting if you're on a really tight budget - rather than a site builder, get your own web hosting, install WordPress on your own installation (that's free) and it gives you much more versatility. You can get unlimited domains on some hosting companies for under $10 per month.

If you need more help with how to do this, send a message and I'll point you in the right direction for free tutorials.

Can you start making money off $200 online or elsewhere..yes...but $200 isnt enough to start a real business. Depending on where you live $200 wont be enough to legalize the company.

Good luck with everything you do!

I agree, if this is only an "internet marketing" type venture $200 is a fine start. However, for a real business $200 will get you no where.

Started my business with about $500 plus a few extra hundred to help cover expenses for the first two months.

      • Articles of organization (LLC) and sellers permit - $150
      • Hosting/domain - $25
      • WordPress theme/plug-ins/stock images - $100
      • Logo- $50
      • Business cards/brochures/flyers - $100
      • Phone line - $25
      • Misc. business supplies/software - $50

200$ is a good budget if you know how to manage your money properly

I have always great results with facecook ppc advertising therefore i would recommend you to spend your money there because its really worth the hard earned money
but before you start you must learn the basics of fb ppc and should learn how you can get cheap clicks with more targeted audience

    Best of luck

RichEmett...hit it on the nail, your $200 if not used correctly will not go very far. You may be better spending that money on getting a site up that is tweaked at SEO, optin form, free offer, optimized content, sales funnel, this you can get done with $200 but you need help it maximizing the money and ready to place people into a sales funnel then drive traffic there for free, others have done it for free so can you. This may be a MMO business model that you may want to consider, there are many but I say this is best one because you ARE BUILDING A LIST !

This type of question has popped up hundreds of times on this forum with the only thing changing is the dollar amount. Some people say $200, $2000 or $20,000 and the answer is always the same it is NOT about the money.

One person can take $200 and turn it into a business making 6 figures and another can take $50,000 and burn through it in a week and make no money at all.

Also pretty much nobody can tell you how to make money. I know how I can make money, I have helped family and very close friends make money because I knew them so well, their limitations, skills, likes, dislikes etc.. but from this post I could not advise you well other than to say in the end it will NOT be the $200 that will determine your success and if you had $10,000 it could just as easily be wasted.
