If it is written well enough it can help drive some traffic to your site. Depending on which service you use, you can also gain a few one way links back to your site, which helps in the long run.

Making use of press release in the correct way to draw attention to your site on the web is one great way of going about the successful publicity of your site. Jist make sure that the information you give throughout the press release must be newsworthy!

Hey, Also make some free press release distributions, because when people start hearing your domain name and do a search, it is better to have tons of links saying press release, makes you look more reputable. |

I know this is an online marketing forum, but don't forget about using press releases OFFLINE. Trying to get publicity is ALWAYS a smart business move (provided you offer a good product or service, have good customer support, etc.). Don't submit press releases just online. Fax your releases to appropriate offline media. Define your goal for your publicity campaign, select the most appropriate media and learn how to approach them. There are tons of resources out there for learning how to get good publicity for your business. I highly recommend Joan Stewart of PublicityHound.com. Her free weekly e-zine is very informative and helpful and she offers several low-priced reports/CD's on different publicity topics. You can also check out Paul Hartunian and Raleigh Pinskey for resources on learning how to get publicity. You'll also need media directories and most are prohibitively expensive for the average Warrior. (Cision, which used to be Bacon's, charges $5,000 or so for theirs.) But Gebbie Press offers reasonably-priced media directories, either in print or on CD. You can buy their all-in-one directory for around $500 (I think) or get just periodical, or just broadcast media directories, for a lower price (around $200 I think). Hope this helps! Michelle |

Glad I could help! I've been on Joan's e-zine list for several years and have bought several products from her. I even interviewed her once on a 1-hour teleseminar. It went great. Joan is an expert in her field and ALWAYS has great advice. She's also always been helpful and friendly whenever I've had a question.Good luck! Michelle |

I have a bunch of blog posts on my website at www.thepressreleasesite.com/blog, with, among other things, a list of 27 free press release sites that I regularly submit to, and step by step instructions on how to write a press release. Also, Press Release Distribution Services - WebWire has a $19.95 service which is very good and which goes online immediately. |

I will be trying out a press release on my new product. Personally, I will be contacting Dana_W to write it up and post it. She is GOOD! She isn't just a pretty face unlike me. |

There is no magic one method approach to traffic but rather it depends upon a range of methods and you need to be doing them all. They are blogging for do follow links, signature links in forums, press releases, article directory submissions. No one method will bring you success

Most certainly for any marketing you are looking to do you should be using Press Releases to get traffic to your site. As a strategy you should consider submitting a press release prior to the pre-launch phase as well as to announce the launch itself to help rev-up and maximize traffic for your new product. |
