Okay, I keep seeing this effect on sites and covers, but I don't even know what is is called so I don't even know what the heck to ask my design guy for. Here's the link - Ewen Chia's Ebook Money Machine! I'm referring to the sparkle/shiny/star effect you see in the header. Like on the "M" in "Money". Can someone help a dummy out and let me know what this is referred to as? Thanks in advance! |

It's usually called a sparkle, highlight or lense flare. Andrew |

Hi Ed It appears to be the "lens flare effect" easy enough to produce in PhotoShop with the lens flare filter. Hope this Helps. All The best Paul on edit. The other response weren't published yet when I posted. 3 makes a consensus I guess! LOL |

Yeah I don't think there's just one name for it. I've never used the term Starburst, but that looks like a cool filter John. Andrew |

| Just show him the example you show us here so he can replicate the effect. ![]() FYI, this is usually done in one or two clicks using a "brush" (your designer knows what it is). No filter necessary. Just a starburst brush (can be found for free on many webdesign websites). EDIT: John Hocking gave you the answer and an useful link. ![]() Didier |
