Someone may have split tested it - but their results may vary with yours.

so many variables - different market, different quality of video, different traffic sources the list goes on.

You have both squeeze pages for your product. Why not split test them yourself?

      I've tested both

I've come to realize that for opt ins, it didn't really matter. I got same opt in, maybe 1-2% more for eBook.

I truly believe the opt in is decided in the headline anyways.

but that was my experience in my niche, testing it is obviously key here.

I found the ebook more responsive.
I actually came to the conclusion that when people subscribe to you list, especially for something free, they've been reading email or posts or forums before getting to your offer.

Switching to a video is basically switching their whole mindset, now they have to sit in listen instead of reading.
You have to be in a particular mood to sit down and listen to someone talking to you or explaining something to you, it's so much easier to simply read an article and pause come back later, or read it on your phone while your at work instead of watching a video.

So I stopped making videos for free products, but again that my experience.

For paid products... I prefer video products... a lot more in depth and higher quality. But once someone has paid for something it's all about highest quality.

Free stuff... all about speed and making a quick $ right away. so watching a video even do probably the best thing they should do... is not what their looking for. they looking for a quick formula to success.

That's what I got from asking questions and testing.

          Hope this helps
