removing sub domain from one host and reinstalling on another?

I have a micro niche site with only 9 pages on Hostgator, I am struggling to transfer it from one Cpanel host to a new host with Cpanel, I was thinking to just save everything to a folder, then deleting everything from hostgator, then adding the same domain to my new host's cpanel sub domains section and then making a new Wordpress installation, and just uploading the same data I initially had on hostgator.
So would this work? and most importantly would it affect my SEO? as I am currently on page 1, but it takes forever to get my new host to help me with this, so I think it would just take me under one hour tops to do all of the above...
Please someone advise, if google would see this as dupe content at all? which I don't think it should since I am deleting everything from hostagator's root folders etc...
