    Hey RyanIM,

I created a couple of threads of creating products and finding niches, take a look:

    Hopefully this helps!

    Hi,

The product that you create should be centered around something that you are quite knowledgeable about and have a keen interest in it. You may ask yourself what areas of interest that you are most interested in as it is very likely that you have already possessed the necessary information in order to create the product in the first place.

    Hope that helps

Find a niche/product you are interested in as well. For the long term, you really want to do something you enjoy. It will help keep you motivated too.

Definitely this. You want to focus on something you won't get bored with doing, let's say, a month from now. Find something you like and stick with that. I'm pretty sure there are tons of people out there who are interested in the same thing as you are.

        Good luck!

Find something thats selling and make it better with a twist, then sell it for cheaper or give it a way to build a massive list...

Thats what I learned my first day in class, and its never failed me... ever.

        Best,

        Derek

The answer is a 2 parter.

    PART 1
find a topic that there is interest in. there needs to be enough people out there to make it worth your while to create the product. Otherwise you'll never get sales momentum and revenues will only trickle in over time, not paying you back in a good return for making all the time, money and effort you invested.

    PART 2
it should be something you have experience and passion in. Its possible to create products that you have no experience with and that the market needs. But at some point what will probably happen is you'll run out of gas creating the product by losing passion, information to share, extra value to the customers. Even if you come out of the blocks with 1 or 2 products, at some point you'll be asking yourself how far you can take this. For instance, you could start with an eBook and some reports or maybe a blog. But with no experience or passion, people will soon ask you questions that you have no answers to. Coaching would be similar. Sure, you could research answers that you dont know, but if its in a subject you dont really even care about, then is this something you really should be doing?

    PUTTING IT TOGETHER
So, it looks like the product might be inside of you already! Brainstorm what you are good at, what others think you are good at and what you have skills in. Then see what products exist in the market for those same things. Are there Dummy's books for it? In those PART 2 areas, what questions or problems have you experienced or bothered you or do you have strong opinions about? Sounds like you might have some products right there!

No one is going to tell you what product you should build. I would suggest make something that you have some knowledge about . Pick one thing you know best and try to find if it is sellable and do some competitor research. This will take some time.

If your product is tuition based meaning that you are teaching someone something, then your product has to deliver someone a result if they follow what you teach. The simpler the better so make it very clear how people are able to get from point a to point b. For this reason you need to have a clear understanding of this process yourself, something you have a lot of knowledge about. The product doesn't need to be complicated, just keep it simple, people like and respond well to simple.

If your product is software based then its function should ideally be sought after, for example, it will automate something for someone.

Something else that helps is if you are passionate about what you are sharing in your product.

Good luck putting it together, and enjoy the process, if you don't get it right the first time, keep going until you do and learn from the mistakes that you make. It's a fun journey when you make money actually helping people to achieve things.

If you are starting from zero ideas...and info products are what you have in mind, try this:

    1. Head over to Amazon, click on "Books" Under the Search Drop Down and just hit Enter, that will give you all categories down the left side. Go crazy looking through the various categories, come up with a list from what you see. You can also go to blog directories like Blogorama which gives you a thorough list of niches with top blogs. If you have a high-level niche in mind, then drill into discussion forums and magazine websites (Ex Psychology Today is great for coming up with ideas around self-help and relationships) to see what is popular.

    2. Focus on problems, frustration and desires - what y you want to walk away with is not only a market, topic and subject, but to find specific problems, frustrations and desires people have to be, do or have something they don't today. Top info products are really systems that help people through life transformations rather than just informational

    3. Once you have your specific ideas in mind, do some market research - search google for your product idea (Ex lose belly fat) + ebook, seminar, dvd, membership site, course, etc... to get a sense for what is already out there, which ones look like your real competition and then how you can be different enough from them to stand out.

    Does that help?

    2.

    Hi,

    1. What SKILLS can you offer to others that they will find useful and
will gladly pay you for sharing them?

    2. What is currently selling well at the product marketplaces?

    3. What seems to sell well all year round?

    4. Can you match your skills with this market?

    5. What are the most common problems people need solving in
    your niche.

    6. Have you looked on forums, blogs, facebook groups etc in your
niche to see what are the currently HOT topics?

You shouldn't create a product until you have an idea based on experience.

Don't create a product just for the sake of creating one. Have a plan and a purpose for it. Give it a level of quality that can stand on its own.

Not everything you do will work and nor will it make others jump for joy and rush to get it. Learn from your initial step(s). Improve upon it. Do it again.

    And stay focused.

    Good luck!
