TIP: Make your upsell video stand out!
Do you create products?
And do you then have an upsell?
If so, having a video that contains a pattern-interrupt and then shows why your upsell will be a total no brainer definitely helps!
What I generally do is have a call to action at the top of my upsell page that says,
STOP! Your purchase is not complete, press Play!
And in my video, I'll begin with either me waving my hands around and saying, stop stop stop, so glad to have caught you!
or me drinking my coffee
or in one case, being beaned on my head by my 3ft wolf plushie being thrown at me
The point is, you want to GRAB the attention.
My kids will participate as well, and I now include the Beak Of Doom (aka Birdie the Parakeet) as comic relief.
I use Windows Moviemaker to create the video - it's free and you can include all sorts of nifty transitions (and their forum is at
Movie Maker Forums
).
The video itself will mainly be me talking about all the benefits, showing screenshots, and closing with a call to action (Click on the Buy Button Below and get ready to hold onto your socks!).
