on your sales page...

what has been your best results?

short videos or long videos...
short audios or long audios?

how many minutes do you recommend?

I've had great results with a set of two videos on this sales page:

How To Increase Web Traffic To Your Site With A Synergistic Network Of Traffic Generating Centers

The first one is just over 2 minutes. The second one is just over 4 minutes. Then, I added an FAQ under the videos. The response to this page has been great.

  I don't think there is a clear cut answer to your question as the answer must be influenced by the content of the video / audio and the subject area.
  
  We all know that we have a very short time to engage visitors and the first 10 seconds are vital, there is a further mass drop out a couple of minutes after that.
  
  The goal therefore is to use audio / video to get rapid engagement but not turn the visitor off. In some circumstances a 5 minute media offering will be appropriate, in others a 30 second taster plus more media later in the page will do the trick.
  
  The only way of knowing is to test and monitor the results.

  I've just finished scripting a sales video for a new sales page. Looks like about 15 minutes on this one. It's a mixture of educational and sales, so it's looking like (after initial readthrough) it will be a very appropriate length.
  
  It all comes down to getting across what you need to get across, without wasting any time.

  Ultimately every product is different so it will take varying amounts of time to get your message across.
  
  One idea could be to test two or three videos of varying length. Some video players have tracking built in so that you could determine where the viewer is located, their attention span etc etc.

It really depends on the content and outcome.

If its sales then 2 to 5 minutes is more than enough for a sales video. Testimonial even less if possible. We did research and most people will click away after 60 sec.

If its training then 7 to 15 minutes is usually the best.

Research show that after 20 minutes peoples attention drops significantly so training should be around the 10 minute mark for best performance.

If you are planning to use video/audio on your
sales pages, I would recommend to keep them short
under 2 minutes.

However, what you can do is to go extreme, and
leave just the video... with no sales copy to read.
